The title says it all. What do you use and why do you use it?

For music I use iTunes. At first I used Winamp, but after discovering iTunes I started liking that a lot more. I like having all my music in one list, neatly ordered which I didn't have in Winamp. It's just easier to search for a song in iTunes, than to browse through my folders in Winamp.

For video I use Media Player Classic with the Combined Community Codec Pack. Along with the Quicktime Alternative and Real Alternative codecs, I can play anything on it. It's fast, easy to use and I never have to worry about a file not working. It even plays Flash videos and videos with subtitles, like mkv files without a problem. It's everything you need. <3

I use the default, windows media player. Though every now and then I'll use iTunes. This way I can use my iPhone as a remote. Then just plug my speakers up to my PC, turn the volume up, and sit back and relax. The iPhone does the rest, using Remote. I love the windows media player though. The new vista one with the aero style makes it even more appealing.

For Video I’m using Media Player Classic with the Vista Codec Pack, this will play anything I throw at it. I like how you can go View > Video Frame > Touch Window From Outside and it will slightly zoom in a bit so you’re not left with any black bars at the top or bottom of the screen.

For playing live TV and Recorded TV I use Windows Media Centre. I like Windows Media Centre because it will record anything you have scheduled without even been logged on to the pc or leaving the application running, you can also leave your PC on standby and it will wake it up to record TV. Media Centre also has a nice TV guide and will sort your Recorded TV by date or by title which groups all the programs in a series together.

HEHE the black outlines and edges are InsaneNutters mortal enemy when it comes to watching TV shows or movies etc :P. I'm like Assasin, used to love Winamp but then went onto Itunes. I find Itunes better because it also plays the music I buy from the Itunes store and if I can't find anywhere to download a song from I'll just buy it off of Itunes Store or Play.com. Also much easier to use my Ipod with obviously.

For Media watching I'm the same as InsaneNutter, Vista Codec Pack and Media player classic. I think the only thing I use WMP for is videos from the web but even those are either embedded into the webpage now or use alternative players such as Quicktime or Flash.

Yep if you install a codec pack, any media player on your computer should be able to play all video formats perfectly.

I've installed XP Codec Pack (on Vista, it's just a name) and it appears to play any video/song on whatever player now. I'm currently using Winamp for my music, and Windows Media Player for my video. Oh, Sometimes I stream video to my Xbox360 by using Windows Media Center, not that often but okay..

When I install the vista codec pack, I also had the NVIDIA purevideo decoder. It caused my GPU driver to stop working and a BSOD. I restored though and got it working again. Though, i'd say that's a very neat pack. Though shouldn't be used with other decoders.

Topic: Windows media player default for vista is my main one, every now and then i'll use itunes. Though I've tired realplayer and media player classic to. I just like the program that looks the best, works the best! Which in my case i think windows media player default for vista is THE BEST!

For music, itunes / ipod touch. Mac's come with a nice little remote (I noticed some of you talking about using your iphones), and they have quick keys to the play/pause, forward, rewind buttons as well which is pretty nice. For videos/movies, I generally use Quicktime, although on the occassions that it fails me (rare, but it happens) I have DivX for my backup.
