I like many have commented on the number of news articles over the years about World of Warcraft players and how they spend whole days say infront playing it and use to laugh at them. Little did I know how addictive it is?

Now don't jump the ball game, I am still not a World of Warcraft player and this isnt a regular thing, but I have just spent the entire day playing one game online.

I woke up this morning at around mid-day, and by around 2pm I was dressed and playing Burnout Paradise on Single player for a while. Then an hour later both Curlysteve and Killerwhiteman came online and joined my game, turning it into multiplayer mode. Shortly after our favourite mexican (KingzBurnz) came on and before we knew it we were playing tons of the freeburn challenges. After completing about 50 of them we started to play Cops n Robbers (Online game mode in Burnout) and some marked man (another game mode) and then some Stunt Run (yet another game mode) then back to Cops n Robbers (Getting where I am going with this?). Before I knew it I was looking at my window and it was pitch black, and I hadnt eaten a thing. Being summer, this means it was past 10pm, so I had wasted my entire day playing the game.

But not at one point did I want it to end, I was having so much fun. We had Trebor appear for an hour to and then opened the game to random internet people and had some really fun games. Some games of Cops n Robbers went both ways in a deadlock trying to score the winning point for ages.

Considering the game was out back in January 2008 and us five have only just got it we love it to bits and theres so much to do online. You know the funny thing though? We only played the race mode once, the mode when the game was released was the only game mode to play. Its not that we dont like it, but since Burnout came out and the most reason 1.9 patch the game has changed so much, and we play every game mode except the main one it shipped with.

Its like the old PC/Xbox game Midtown Madness where you could drive around the city with friends and play Races (and cops n robbers). Sadly Microsoft never released a new one but in a way, Burnout has become Midtown Madness 4 to me and to be honest, is a million times better than them. It went from a game I ignored (based on the Demo) to my new favourite Xbox Game, above Crackdown which has been my long term favourite.

So if anyone has some spare cash lieying around, why not pick up the game brand new for £10 / $15, and also spend £8 / $10 on the Big Surf Island DLC and enjoy the game, its the best £20 / $25 dollars you would have ever spent, espically if you loved the old Midtown Madness games! Though sadly the true fun doesnt come until you play 8 player minigames (like Cops n Robbers / Marked Man etc etc) at which point you will love the game to bits!

Nicely said sir. This is by far the best twenty dollar game I have bought. Then with the cost of the DLC, it came to maybe the cost of a brand new game. Honestly, it is the most online fun I have had in quite some time. We shall be online again soon!

I got the game a few months after it came out and actually tried a few times to get InsaneNutter interested in buying it so that you'd eventually give it a go Nimrod. That didn't work and so I hardly spent anytime playing it. What made you inerested in the game? Was it when I was riding a bike around in game when I brought it to one of the LANs? Anyway now that you guys are playing it I'm keen to get the racing done and hop back online with you guys, after I've finished Prototype that is, seeing as that games consumed me and I can't stop playing it. It'd be great if someone made a Co-op mod for it. The game was intended to be Co-op but the developers dropped it a while back.

I was always thankful for birthday present Burnout Paradise, Trebor (thank you again) but at the time I had so many xbox games left to complete so it took a back seat. When at one of our lans you got it out it reminded me of it and I decided to play it to, Steve also thought the same, and with the Game Vouchers with £10 off he picked up the Ultimate Box brand new sealed for a whole £8.99. At first we just thought it would be an ok racing game to play on the cheap, but as soon as we started playing it online we got addicted! Combined with the cheap MS points cards we got from Game also we got Big Surf Island and fell in love with it. best birthday present ever
