I am sure you have heard of the succesfull Guitar hero games and i am all sure you have all heard of rock band.

on november 28th 2008 Guitar hero 4 is coming out with drums, guitar, bass guitar, microphone and the game for £150:)

This may sound expensive but it is far from it, you get to play 86 songs + you get to make your own , what more do you want from a game, the graphics are fantastic so it's definatly a game you should think about getting(Y)

Let me hook up my iPod/whatever and let me play any song I want and we have a winner. I'd like to pick the songs I want to play myself instead of choosing from a set library.

Ye you might like that but you have to think that you have to get all the note in the right place etc but on guitar hero 4 you can try and make the songs of your ipod by doing it your self :-)

So you basically think they should do a guitar hero version of every song ever?
So that everyone can play their favourite songs...
I think the game is really good, the whole band idea is fun but £150 is expensive.
Plus there is already a wide range of songs, there's bound to be a good amount of songs you like.

Well it's possible. Look at Audiosurf for Steam. Just open any song on your computer and you can play it. Should be possible for Guitar Hero. I don't intend to buy a new game every time to get some new tracks.
