    Default Star Wars in 3D!

George Lucas has decided to put the trilogies in 3D.This is what IGN wrote.

"January 19, 2010 - George Lucas thinks the time has come for Star Wars to get the 3D treatment.

Although the filmmaker has been looking for a way to revisit the trilogies in 3D for some time now, it appears that the phenomenal success of the 3D sci-fi epic Avatar has finally pushed it closer to becoming a reality.

"[I'm] happy it's so successful, and worked very well in 3D," Lucas told Access Hollywood at Sunday's Golden Globes after party. "Haven't been a big fan of 3D, but that movie definitely improves in (the field of) 3D."

Lucas added, "We've been looking for years and years and years of trying to take Star Wars and put it in 3D ... But, [the] technology hasn't been there. We've been struggling with it, but I think this will be a new impetus to make that happen." "

    Can't wait!

I never thought Lucas would remake / re master the Starwars films yet again!
You know they will be perfect in 3D if he's doing it.

3D is no longer the realm of geeks. its a world wide phenomanon. Avatar was mindblowing in 3D. and the star wars films in 3d should be great as well. seeing a film In 3d is becoming a event that everyone should experience (personally looking forward to 3D telly).

though I am not suprised that Lucas is re doing the Star wars films. good job with being original there George.

It's probably more likely that George was not willing to invest much into 3D films until it was proven to be popular. As you said Haloman, I think we can all agree that it's popular to the people who went to see Avatar with the amount it's grossed to date. You can always rely on some reluctance when new technologies and formats come out. I'm just glad there are people out there willing to try new things.

I think Star Wars would be great in 3-D. I never thought Lucas would want to do any sort of remake/remaster as InsaneNutter mentioned. I think a remaster of the original trilogy would be a great idea!

UGH! I hate 3-D, it's a gimmick to double ticket prices. Avatar sucked in both 2-D and 3-D, nothing will ever make that movie good. Coraline on the other hand was amazing in 3-D the ONLY exception to the rule ever, it was like watching a diorama play itself out with no silly LOLPOPOUT that is the epic cliche of every 3-D movie to date, Coraline being the only one not to.

Maybe 3D is cool and all, but I'll stick F I R M to the normal 2D if you don't mind...
Haven't George Lucas milked out Star Wars not long enough?

We are Furrys, with dignity and pride. We are free no one can touch us, no one can force us to deny what we are believing in no one can destroy our feelings, our love.

All of us are walking through the world with eyes open with purpose in our step. Sometimes we even abandon society only to embrace this Furry thing to be ourselves.

I would love to see a Star Wars movie based on the time periods before the original trilogies. A movie set in the same time as the Knights of the Old Republic would be a great idea. It would be cool to see a Star Wars movie with more than one or two Sith, like the rest of the movies have.
