    Adidas Live Season

Dynamic update of player information in-game that mirrors real-life performances. Feel the change in game play experience as teams in the real world experience the highs and lows during their campaigns. All the Top leagues are included: Barclay's Premier League, La Liga, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, Serie A and Mexican Primera Division. You get one league for free but it will cost you for the rest which is a downfall.

    Custom Team Tactics

Become a first-team coach with the power to tune and balance 11 tactical sliders for 140 attacking and 40 defending options (more than 50,000 combinations) so CPU players and your team perform just like the real-world team or how you think the real team should play. Save your tactics to make strategic decisions to exploit your opponent’s weaknesses during the game. Plus, share your strategies with friends online*.

    Be A Pro: Season

Pick or create a professional player and test your ability over a four season campaign. Master a single position and develop your skills -- passing, shooting, positioning, marking -- to ultimately become a national legend.

    Fifa 09 Clubs

Create your own club or simply join an existing club and compete in an organised league when playing 10 v 10 Online Team Play. FIFA 09 Clubs will determine the best virtual team in the world with up-to 50 players able to join a club. Club Managers select the team and can recruit players for their squad. Compete with friends across 15 divisions to be the best club in the world.

    Improved Goalkeeper Intelligence

Goalkeepers position themselves more intelligently, react to shots more realistically and recover from saves faster.

The AI is a bit too good at getting the ball. On Semi-Pro they are very good in my opinion which is the second difficulty. Amature is too easy.

Adidas Live Season updates is a downfall in the game to many people but if you see it that they update the game every week it is very good. It's only a one off payment and not many games update every week.

Frequently laggy online play but if you get into a good game with no lagg it is very fun!

Some dodgy AI goalkeeping. The mistakes the keeper does is very bad such as not following the ball but looking away like a statue and miss the ball but most of the time they are well positioned and work well.

Great review there Saffin, I really like what you have done with Photoshop.

It does sound like quite a few improvements have been made, I must admit i don’t play any football games at all... is it really worth buying it say if you had Fifa 08 for example? To me they all look very similar... I don’t see how it’s possible to keep rolling a new version out every year with a £40 price tag... yet people keep buying it so I guess I’m missing something.

Well I would see no point in getting the game if you are not a fan of football. To enjoy the new improvments you would need to like football. If you where not intrested you probably would not know many of the players and one of the main differences in the games is the transfers.

But if you like football this is a 10% buy. Maybe a rent first so you can see if you would like to buy it..

I buy the game each year because it keeps up to date with real life like the new players in each sqaud, the better graphics, different stadiums, the different abilities and much more..

Yes safinn this is a very good review. I do also love those pics you have. Ture photoshop skills. Great work man. You should have one of the admins move this over to the cod5 contest area. If you already have a key, you could also get one for another xbox you have or maybe a brother that you've just been dying to pwn them at the beta. :D

Fifa is a really good game. I've played a few of them, Though I've only got to play the Fifa 09 demo on Xbox Live. Currently I would buy it but with all these new games coming out right now. I have to get them first.

I see what you mean. Fifa would be at the top of my "get" list. I love football that much.

Ok, can an admin please move it to the contest area. I'll have a go to try and get one for my cousin.

I see what you’re saying, having been a pc gamer for so many years before I finally became more of a console gamer that’s the sort of thing I would expect to see in a free patch and not have to pay £40 for, especially now consoles are online. I noticed you mentioned Adidas live season which will mirror the stats of the real football season, if that’s updated for more than one year it would be a nice feature for the fans. :)

Moved the review to the competition area too.

The Adidas live season is updated weekly with the stats from the previous weekends games being fed into the system. It is a one of payment for the season, and as i say, will update after every weekend.

as for why we buy it every year, they make changes to gameplay based on fan feedback, and this for me, is enough to keep me coming back. As well as the updated squads and kits, which I agree could be done with a downloadable patch, as PES 09 has done this year.

i think that FIFA 09 is up there among the best football games I've ever played, and I've been playing them for a good 10 years. For me, it has beaten PES 09 hands down this year, and i even get to play as my beloved Huddersfield Town! :D

    EDIT

    Good review btw Safinn ;)

I'll have to give you a game sometime!

Yea could have a game some time. I think Fifa have beaten PES every year! PES just got the licenses this year didn't they. So now they can call teams their real name! lol.

I have to disagree. I think up untill last year i think PES was the better game gameplay wise, but obv couldn't compete with graphics and licenses. I thought FIFA was better last year and most certainly this year. Yeah PES got licenses this year, I think they're doing what FIFA did originally and concentrating on licences more than gameplay, which isn't a good thing to do!

It's probably because I played Fifa before PS so I just got used to the Fifa ways... which made me dislike PES.
