In a recent article on Xbox360Achievements.org, it is revealed that Tesco.com is having a deal on Dead Rising 2 preorders. The cost is only £27.96, with free shipping in the UK. This converts to only about 39.99 USD. There is also a deal on Argos.com for the upcoming Halo 3: ODST for only £26.99. I also found a deal for Dead Rising 2 on Play.com for £29.99. Below are all of the links that I have mentioned. This is good news for all of our friends in the UK!

That’s a nice deal for Halo 3 ODST, I was thinking about pre ordering it although im not sure yet as Argos take the money right away.

But i suppose were not going to see it much cheaper than that anyway! Nice find (Y)

I've never pre-ordered a game in my life and never will. People were so worried about not being able to get Fable II here because they would be sold out, I just walked in and bought a copy the second day it was out, that just saved me money since it didn't needed to be pre-ordered. Turns out the game sucks, Fable II that is.

If I know I’m going to want a game ill pre order it as there usually good deals online just before a game launches, I got both the collector’s edition of Gears 1 and 2 for about £35, both retailed for about £45-50ish in shops, Game been the shop selling it for £50!

Same with Halo 3, I believe I got the limited edition for a similar price.

In the UK at least games do appear to be significantly cheaper online and pre ordering sometimes means you get the game a day or two early.
