Major Nelson has shown off some totally original Xbox 360 units. The non purchasable units are customised with the look of Facebook, Twitter, Last.FM and SKY. All these services are analysed as a glimpse into the future of the Xbox 360's integration with other services.

He calls the integration of Facebook, Twitter, Last.fm, and Sky, "a glimpse into the future of the Xbox 360 as a home media/internet hub. I think that this announcement was far and away the most important one of the show, and think that the media completely missed its importance."

I'm still on the fence regarding the integration of Facebook and such into the 360. It just seems like it's more stuff to clutter the console with. I know how popular these things are but it just seems like it may be being forced on people that may not want to have any part of it.

I thought I bought my 360 for gaming not for that Twitter BS. It would be nice if they worked on updates for gaming not for something i'm never going to use. If someone wants to Twitter they can use something called a PC. Something that would be even better and is an alternative solution is why doesn't 360 add some type of web browser, excluding MCE Browser that you have to use through Windows Media Center. Then everyone could use Twitter among many other things, in the time they're taking to make Twitter integrated and everything else into the 360 they could of integrated a Web Browser.

I would much rather have a web browser than this Facebook and Twitter garbage. I have a personal vendetta against Facebook because it messes up peoples' lives and relationships. Anyway, hopefully a web browser will come soon.

I know, 360 is the only console that doesn't have an internet browser, since I don't consider MCE as a internet browser considering I can't use it because whenever I try to use it Windows Media Center its to slow and won't work.

I think the Twitter and Facebook integration will be done quite well, don’t honestly know if I would ever use it but of course it’s something I would at least check out when its released.

I’ve never really been bothered about the lack of a web browser on the 360, I can see how it would be useful but as my PC’s in the same room it’s something I’ve never needed.

Now if the 360 supported more video codecs / containers such as MKV that would be great! Or even allow Xbox Media Centre to be downloaded on from marketplace, I would pay 1000’s of MS points for that as it would be one of the most useful things you could ever have on the 360.
