  1. Users on the Call Of Duty forums spotted that patch 1.06 - which makers Treyarch released in an attempt to fix some of the problems that have plagued the online play in Black Ops for the PS3 - had a rather revealing status message.

When in the Search and Destroy multiplayer mode on the PS3, it flashes up a warning saying: 'No Xbox LIVE party chat.' Which, given that you probably wouldn't anticipate Xbox chat being available on the PS3, is rather interesting.

This prompted much hilarity in the forums, with comments like 'LOOOL epic fail i just saw this. seems like they ported the patch from 360 how can u forget something like this' and 'Haha, they can't deny that this is a port now.'

We're not sure exactly how much light the patch's platform-based confusion actually sheds on Treyarch's development process, but it certainly won't have done much to placate disgruntled users unhappy with the flaws in the PS3 version of Black Ops.
It's led to gaming pressure group Gamer's Voice planning to submit an official complaint to the Office of Fair Trading, calling the game 'broken to the point of it not fulfilling its function as a piece of entertainment' and saying that it seems like 'entire sections of the PS3 and PC gaming community are apparently being used as game testers.'
