The sequel to the original Legend of Zelda game for NES. In this game Zelda is in a deep sleep and Link has to wake her up. He once again does this by going from dungeon to dungeon, not collecting a certain item but placing crystals into pedestals and collecting items to help him get to a new dungeon. This game also introduced towns to the Zelda games. The towns have the same names as some of the characters from the N64 Zelda game Ocarina of Time, like Saria. Unlike the previous game, you play this sequel as a sidecroller. There's also a levelling system, making you fight monster to get experience to level up and get stronger. You still view the map in a topdown view. If you get off the path you will see enemies walking around. If you run into these you will get to a sidescrolling scene in which you have to do the actual fighting.
