Default [N64] The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

This is the best rated Zelda game out there. It was the first 3D Zelda game. You once again play link, who once again has to free Zelda. At the first part of the game you have to collect three stones. After collecting those, you will get the Ocarina of Time. At that point you can go to the Temple of Time and travel through time, to go seven years into the future. Here you will see a world in which Ganon has taken over and it's up to you to restore Hyrule to it's former glory. Even though the game is 3D, the concept is still the same. Link has to travel from dungeon to dungeon to progress through the game, eventually battling Ganon himself.

this game was ground breaking. i think it might have been the first "open-world" game, similar to the grand theft auto world style. the cut scenes are fantastic too.

you start off the game as child Link, then almost rescue Zelda, and something happens. next thing you know, you're adult link, and holy SHIT is adult Link a badass.

easily makes it to top ten games of all time (imho).

    play it.

    you'll love it.

Sixtyforce, afaik it's the only Mac OS X one around.
You see the nintendo logo and then the program dies.
    Same for Mario 64.

For Windows Project 64 is the best.

Kit, can you not run Project 64 under Crossover on OSX? Might be worth a try

Use the links to play Zelda OoT in high res textures. If you don't think that the high-res textures look better look at This.

There is a guide here with download links.

If anyone was wanted to play this again I highly recommend using this, the game looks totally different. I was amazed by the difference. It also has one that makes it look like windwaker. It is a little bit buggy looking at times but totally worth it. (it does work with master quest but you'll have to rename everything individually)

Now that’s pretty impressive, looks as good as any old game remade out on Xbox Live Arcade.
