If you've recently bought a 2008-2012 Ford with bluetooth audio and USB, or perhaps if you've retro-fitted the Bluetooth/USB/voice control components, it is advisable to update the firmware in order to ensure proper compatibility with iPhones and modern devices. Also, these updates improve iPod reliability and compatibility and allow the audio to be transmitted over USB in order for the audio system's DAC to decode it instead of having to have the 'aux' lead attached at the same time.

This download applies to the following vehicles and build dates, with the bluetooth and USB audio interface. If you are unsure of your vehicle's build date, check by looking it up at www.etis.ford.com.

    C-Max - February 2008 to January 2012
    Fiesta - July 2008 to December 2011
    Focus - February 2008 to January 2012
    Galaxy - September 2008 to January 2012
    Kuga - February 2008 to January 2012
    Mondeo - September 2008 to January 2012
    Ranger - From April 2009
    Transit - From June 2009

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!
I have just brought a 2011 c max titanium, it’s an amazing car, I am in love with it, but I was suuuuuper sad when my music was crackling using Bluetooth AND I couldn’t play my music via a cable using the usb

I thought I was finally getting rid of my aux cable for good, was even going to do a little funeral for its years of loyal service LOL but alas my horror described above :(
But after doing this update everything’s working :) no cracking on Bluetooth and I can play with the usb now charging my phone and playing music, I never fought this would happen haha

“I would like to thank my googling skills for finding this thread”
“Siri search for “Ford C-Max Bluetooth music crackle” ok found this result”
“BAAAABE MY MUSICS NOT WORKING PROPERLY” - husband - “oh hear we go again”

These are all scenarios that you have helped solve

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    a qualcuno e 'gia capitato?

    Hi all, first post here.
I have just tried this update on my 2011 MK3 focus as I was having crackling and intermittent lock ups while playing audio over Bluetooth and as much as I was pleased to find this and I thank you...It doesn't seem to have worked.

The update ran fine and after about 15 min it said it had completed but testing Bluetooth audio out I thought it had fixed but after about 5 mins it started to do the same thing again.
Also, I thought I could now get audio over Bluetooth which just says usb not compatible.
I know this is 2023 when typing this so I was wondering whether the new phones are completely compatible with this update.
    I use a Samsung Note 20 ultra.
Should I just give up or maybe buy a new stereo and see if that fixes this annoying issue.

Thanks in advance for any help.
