Xbox 360 NXE Dashboard Update 2.0.9199.0 With Avatars Download

    Information:
This dashboard update mainly serves users who dont have Xbox Live and would still like to keep there console's somewhat up-to-date.
    • Support for using USB storage (up to 16gb) to save Xbox 360 content on such as profiles, savegames, DLC, demos and arcade games.
    • Allows banned consoles to do hard drive installs again (the console is still banned and anything modified on that console will be corrupt when used on another console)
    How to install:
1.) Extract the contents of $SystemUpdate_9199.zip, then rename the $SystemUpdate_9199 folder to $SystemUpdate
2.) Put the $SystemUpdate folder in the root of a CD or USB Stick (Must be FAT or Fat32 formatted)
3.) Insert the CD or USB Stick into your Xbox 360 console.
4.) You will be automatically prompted to update with a USB stick, with a CD / DVD it should say Mixed Media Disc, power down the 360 and power it on again. You should be ask to update before the 360 boots to the dashboard.
5.) Once the update is complete your Xbox 360 will restart then boot up to the new dashboard. Enjoy!

Want to update your console and keep the homebrew exploit?
In this case you want the 7371 update from June 2009, this is the last update before the Jtag hack was fixed.

How do I configure my USB storage device?

Using a compatible flash drive over 1 GB, you can reserve a maximum of 16 GB for profiles, game saves, and downloadable content. To use USB storage, you'll need to configure it first. Plug it in and go to System Settings, Memory, then select your device to start setting it up.

What if I don’t want to erase all the data on my USB storage device, what are my options?

Use the Customize option to choose the amount of space you would like to use on your device. Choosing this option will retain all of your existing content.

I'm getting a "Performance Warning” message, what does that mean?

If your device doesn't meet Xbox 360 performance recommendations, you may experience significant performance problems playing games from the device or saving games and profiles to it.

I'm getting a "Can't Configure" message, what does that mean?

Your device cannot be used with the USB storage device due to data loss and performance issues. The data loss test checks for speed and integrity of the memory on your specific device. If there are any issues, it will fail the text.

This USB storage device works just fine on my PC, but why doesn’t it work on my Xbox 360?

If the USB storage device does not work at all, then there was a problem accessing the device (for example, it is faulty or write-protected) or it failed the Xbox 360 integrity check. If the USB storage device is configured, but a performance warning is displayed, it’s due to the Xbox 360 requiring a higher level of sustained performance than most PC uses.

Why do I only see 1.5GB available on my USB storage device, but my device is 2GB in size?

The Xbox 360 reserves 512MB of storage for system use.

hi, i installed this update (I'll give u my thanks) via a pendrive, but when it rebooted, the xbox screen freezed, so i waited and after 5 mins it said that i can't install this update on my console (call ms support and all that kind of things). I rebooted manually, and i checked the dashboard version i had then, and for my surprise it was 2.0.9199, so i tried to use my usb device and configure it, but it says that i can't because it's not allowed, i tried a 4gb micro sd in an adaptor, and a 1gb.
Do you know any solution, or just to bring it back to the last update? is there any way? i thank u again

Just installed this update. After the installation was finished, my screen started messing up. Seemed like some of the horizontal resolution was dropping out. I powered off, then back on, and now have the dreaded E74 error with one red light. I did nothing else other than install the update automatically through my network connection.

    Any ideas?

Is the SD card FAT32 formatted?

Also are you banned from live? I know Microsoft have disabled some features for banned users so its worth asking.

The E74 is an error for hardware failure, its quite common with the 360.
Not really sure what you can do except send it back to MS.

Maybe the USB devices you have are too slow?

I have tested it on my console with a 1gb Micro SD card in a USB 2.0 card reader, it works fine however I get warned the device is not that fast so might cause problems.

Not too sure to be honest i've not been able to make my drive not work when playing about with it.

Edit - download now updated to include avatars.

The E74 is as Insane said a Hardware issue, it could be the AV cable or it could be a bigger problem with the AV. I can say that the update caused the E74 error in no way at all. I personally got the E74 error after playing Castlevania: SOTN after about 5 minutes and the 5 minutes was the total time the 360 was on that whole day, so it can be quite random.

Don't go away from the subject.. the previous 8mb update without avatars just ended "disabling" the avatars of 100% of the people that used it. Only those in a specific situation wouldn't be affected, I'll explain what I found out.

Anyone that used the "update with no avatars" on a console with a HDD will get updated to 2.0.9199.0 but with no Avatar.. even after making a new USB drive including the "update with avatars" the console wouldn't just recognize the update.. only after formatting the pen some times, copy the $SystemUpdate folder, and plugging and unplugging the pen on the Xbox 360 I finaly got it asking to update..

If now I move my HDD to a 2nd Xbox 360 it won't ask for an additional update on live and my Avatars will all be appearing correctly.. but if I power this 2nd console off, take the HDD off and put another HDD on it, the console will ask for the update..

    Freaky..

Does this mean there is a way to put original xbox game DLC's on the 360?

I had put the folder after extraction on my USB and it is FAT format, and when I put in in my 360 it doesn't update. My xbox 360 system version is 2.0.8955.0, so it should update. Why doesn't it update?

I had the same problem as well but when you extract the folder it should only say $SystemUpdate and there shouldn't be a subfolder in the $SystemUpdate folder only the update files.

I had a look at the folder and it was only a single folder no sub folder. Thanks for the help, but it still doesn't work, I don't know what is wrong :-@

If you have never been online since flashing your console there is no way you can be banned.

If you have played online in the past its quite possible you could have been flagged for a ban, im not 100% on this but i believe Xbox 360 system updates contain a list of the ID's for consoles that have been banned so your console could in theory find out it was banned. You would have to look in to this to be 100%.

Your games should work as normal either way after updating.

    What version of i-xtreme?

If you are on the latest you should be ok to update, of course your 360 could send information back to MS about the games you played offline and flag you for a ban at a later. There is always risk involved.
