Default Resident Evil 5 Demo Download

Download Resident Evil 5 Demo for Xbox 360
[Works on All Region Consoles - Just burn to CD]

You can now download the Resident Evil 5 Demo from the Market Place, add it to your download queue.

Update 7th May 2009: xzKinGzxBuRnzx has uploaded the USA version of the Demo which will play on Xbox Live, This can be downloaded from the Digiex FTP, you can still download the original Japanese demo from the torrent if you wish.

You do not need a modified Xbox 360 to play this.

    Instructions:

    1. Burn the content folder to a CD or DVD using Nero or any other DVD burner.

(Your DVD should look like this)

    2. Go to the Demos tab on your Xbox 360 to play.

    Screenshots:

    Downloads:

    Torrent:
Download Resident Evil 5 Xbox 360 Demo (Japaneese) - The demo is in English, it just from the Japanese region and will not allow a none Japanese console to play on Live.

    http
Download Resident Evil 5 Xbox 360 Demo (English)

    Extra Info:

For anyone who doesn’t have Nero or is having trouble with burning this demo I recommend you give ImgBurn a try, it works as good as Nero and its free. Have a look at the Digiex guide: How to burn files and folders to a CD, DVD or Blueray Disc using ImgBurn.

Could you not get this if you created a Japanese account?

You could do for a short while but Capcom quickly region locked it meaning even with a Japanese account you needed to be using a Japanese 360 to download the demo.

This demo is not region locked

What im confused about is that the demo was divided into 5 rar files and you exctract the 1st one and put it on a disk. so what do you do with the rest of the files. if you exctract the others its the same size. can anyone give me detailed instructions or have the files in one big file. thanks.

If it is in parts get all the parts in the same folder them extract the first one and it will put them all together and give you one file.

In the picture it just seems like there is one file and you just put that on the CD.

If you downloaded the demo from Digiex it will be one big rar file if you get it from the Digiex ftp server or un rar’ed ready to burn if you got the Digiex torrent.

With rar files you only need to extract one of them, the data is split across the multiple files so if you have successfully extracted it you good to go.

Make sure the folder structure on the DVD is like this screenshot and burn it.

I extract the 1st one it gives me the contents folder. do i move the other rar files into that folder or just leave the rars in the same folder? because if i do that it wont fit on to a CD-R which i heard people say they have been doing that to work.

Do you have it available for a Direct Download because i cannot use BT files. It slows down my isp. Its a local provider so they arnt much into torrents

Yes read my first post at the bottom where it says Digiex FTP - Europe, However the copy you have now should be fine.

Once you have extracted the rar’s you don’t need them anymore, don’t burn them. Just burn the content folder as in the guide above.

Hey thanks for the help i think i had an error extracting this morning. i put it on a CD-R just the 1st extracted file went to the demo and my system froze i may download this when i get home from work and try it. thanks for clearing it up. It makes me wonder how the 5 parts work. if your only extracting and burning the one part how dose it get the data from the others?

In a split rar achieve each file starts with either .rar then the next files are .r00, .r01, .r02 or .part01, .part02, .part03 and so on depending on the version of WinRar used.

When you open the first rar it knows it’s a split achieve and to carry on looking in .part02 and so on until it’s all been extracted.

Don’t worry if you have extracted the folder structure and the re5_demo file you have everything you need to burn.

    It works! Hooray!

Is there any way to install it to your 360 hard drive once you've burned it to disk? Some things seem to load a little slow (i'm guessing Capcom optimised the demo for loading from the HDD).

No you can’t install the demo, however if you have one of the SATA adaptors to connect the 360’s hard drive to your computer you can open up Partition 3 using Xplorer 360 then just copy the content folder from this download in to that and it will run from your 360’s hard drive.

Thanks InsaneNutter. Why Capcom couldn't release this demo to everyone, I don't know. The game is coming out in the US and Europe 1 week after the Jap release I think. Anyway if it's all in English I can see if the game is any good (I loved RE4) and whether to buy it next year or not

    Torrent:

I've added 4 more Seeding Boxes to this, so we are easily pushing out over 200mbit between all the boxes. 3 More Canadian ones and another UK one.

This should be a recorded for the fastest seeding Digiex Torrent

    FTP:

The FTP on the other hand its stressing out with tons of downloads, its pushing out over 50mbit now. Still recommend to everyone for the fastest speed to use the torrent.

    FTP Live Bandwidth Usage:

How come whenever I try to burn the CD/DVD, it always says mixed media disk. I have gone through three disks already. Any advice?

OMG it works thank you guys so much. If your having trouble just make sure that when your burning it as a Data Disk that your copying the contents folder and not the resident evil folder. Then check and see if it shows up in your demos.

I don’t see why you would get banned, I have an American account to download American only stuff such as the Ages Wing Arcade game and so on. People have been using accounts from other regions since the 360’s launch with no problems.

I can't get it to work. I've tried burning the content folder to a CD, a DVD; I've tried burning just the demo file. My 360 won't even say the disc is a mixed media disc. All it says is "open tray" and it's not coming up under the games section.

    What am I doing wrong?

Never mind. I got it working.

Ok so I have downloaded the file, and verified that I downloaded the content folder and all of what it contains within it just as you showed on the first screenshot. When I put the disc in my 360 it starts to read it, and then instead of saying mixed media disc, it says open tray (as if there isn't a readable disc in the tray). I tried burning multiple discs, and my 360 still won't read the disc. The demo isn't appearing in the demo section either. Any ideas?!?! I am fairly sure that it isn't the laser in my system or anything like that I haven't had a single issue with it since launch. Thanks for the help.

What did you use to burn the disc? I always use Nero personally, I’ve always had problems with stuff burned from within Windows so if you used that to burn it try another program such as Nero.

I used a DVD-R RW but I don’t think the 360 is that fussy with media.

I wouldn’t think so if you were pirating the full game then yes I could see why you would get banned, however it’s a Demo, if anything after playing it you’re more likely to be hyped up and want the full game. The only thing I’ve heard people getting banned for is modifying their 360’s which hopefully no one here has done.

OK, I've burnt the file to a DVD using Nero and I'm able to see it in my demos list (as Japanese text). However, when I click "Play Game", the screen goes black and after a few seconds it plays the Xbox power up noise but the screen remains black indefinitely. Any idea what's up?

The only thing I can think of for MacabreAngel and farbeyonddriven is your using media the 360 doesn’t seem to like too well.

I would burn using some proper software such as Nero, I’ve never found the built in CD burring software in Windows any good.

I used a CD, and it took quite a long time for the demo to ever begin loading after the screen went black. Is the disc being read at all while the screen is black?

The longest I've left it in there with the screen black was about two minutes, with no luck. It does seem to be reading the disk during that time, but if it hasn't loaded after two minutes I would think that it's not going to. Oh well, I'll just wait for the demo to come stateside...

    Thumbs up Thank you!!

I burnt it to a Sony DVD+R at 4x with Nero 6 and all works great!!! The controls are kinda of "too tight" and hard to see any enemies close behind you. But hey, visuals and game overall is fun!!
Now if only Too Human demo was available. I get all demos from the OXM demo discs but never saw TH. Is there a list of demos released on Live Marketplace and not OXM? I don't have Live.
