I've been an Opera user since the "pay days" and maybe 4.0 or so. I'm now using 9.63 but I can't seem to get past the "leeching" referer comments to download a thing. I'm on IE8 presently and I still can't. I've read the tutorial regarding this but I'm certainly "struggling"!!

I've used IE8 and Opera on a machine with no AV with no luck.

This is from a different machine that uses AntiVir (personal) with no luck

I do use OpenDNS instead of my ISP's DNS servers. Is that a problem?

    Help please!

    Thanks
    -Dave

I've read and done everything except installing Firefox. I don't see the necessity of that.

Without changing anything for a period of about 30 minutes yesterday I was able to use a couple downloads with IE8. After two downloads I got the same "leeching" notifications! This was on a machine with AntiVir.

I don't frequently download applications and this is the first location where I've had the difficulty!

What were you downloading? If the download is on the FTP server and you’re making more than two connections the FTP server will not allow you to connect, if you keep trying to connect you get banned for 1 hour for hammering.

These restrictions are not put in place to annoy people but to keep the website alive, we can’t afford the best web server in the world and people using download managers that make 10 connections at once kill the web server.

Open DNS shouldn’t be a problem, if you link me to a download you’re having issues with ill have a look.

Thanks for the "offer" of "personal attention"!!

I sorted the Opera "situation out"! I do some Corvette parts and when I shop Craig's List I use the "Crazedlist.org" to search areas of the US without going from "location to location"! To use the "crazedlist.org" site you need to "disable" the referrer in the "config". I "ticked" the referrer and I was good to go! The IE8 error I don't understand because I though you couldn't "disable" the "referrer"! Maybe the IE error was your "protection devices" tossing me for unsuccessful connection requests in a short period. There were no "multiple connections" and there wasn't a download manager in use also!

I'm attempting the TV Pack install on a "clean install" of Vista Ultimate using the HDHomerun for Clear QUAM. If there's someone with experience I'd appreciate some "tips"!!

    Again! Thanks!
