Today, while back home I misspelt a URL and got sent to a virgin media page loaded with sponsored adverts:

Anyways, I clicked "What is this page" at the top right, and found out how to opt-out:

I havent used Virgin Media for ages, but how long has this being going on for? Dead URL catching when done by Comcast in America was reacted with uproar and eventually removed, so why are virgin media now doing it?

just tried it on comcast in america, it takes you to a comcast page, with the option to turn it off as well. you have to log into your comcast account to get it turned off though.

It's been a couple of months and is very irritating, I didn't spot that removal thing, so I started using google DNS instead.
