XP SP2 adds support for Bluetooth natively however It’s always best to have the latest service pack.

If you still can’t get it working post a screenshot of your device manager and I’ll try and help you more.

What is in “other devices” if the Bluetooth device is not installed correctly it should be in there.

Im guessing its partly installed as you have quite a few Bluetooth serial parts.
It could be a case of the drivers are installed but it’s not compatible with the default windows Bluetooth software, did you install any other Bluetooth software before such as the Widcom software?

Also do you know the make/model of the Bluetooth device?

actually before repairing xp i had the drivers, it was not not in xin xp list so i downloaded the drivers which were compatible to the device.
i have them right now also, but the thing is when i plug in the device, no hardware changes are shown in the device manager!
and that other device shows 2 things- sm bus controller and an unknown device but these remain as it is when the i plug out the bluetooth device also!
