Oh, wow, I didn't think they'd go that far. Microsoft just happens to be the jerks of the gaming industry at the moment. I believe gaming would be so much better if they didn't do things like this. Like me not being able to get the TF2 update for 360 because of them...and I don't even know if will ever be possible to get the updates...

Admin edit - Moved to a new thread as the Fallout 3 review was getting way off topic ;)

I believe a major TF2 update is coming to the 360, however you will probably have to pay for it as Microsoft aren’t keen on free DLC on Xbox Live.

I heard they're updating the 360 version when all classes have had their updates on Steam, so might take a while..

I am surprised that there has not been a big TF2 update by now. It's like Valve just released the game and forgot about it and that's not like them.

I think Microsoft want valve to charge for the update on the 360 so they could be waiting until the majority of the content is done. I must admit the PC version is a lot lot better than the 360 version.

I agree. These games were made for the pc so I did not expect them to be as good when they were ported to the 360.

That goes when they go the other way as well. I was looking forward to Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions, but when they ported it from console to PC, they didn't bother changing the control settings. It seemed that they wanted you to use a 360 controller and not the default keyboard and mouse combo. The menus were all based around a controller so that made it even more difficult to navigate as standard FPS keystrokes didn't want to work.

I think that's just typical of Capcom. I hear Resident Evil 4 is one of the worst ports of a game in a loooooong time. Apparently Capcom are changing their ways and are really big on Digital distribution (you can get quite a few of their games on Steam now) and if you look at games like RE5 and SFIV they're taking longer with them before release hopefully to make them better and not just be crappy ports.

You should play Final Fantasy 7 or 8 for PC, talk about terrible controls.. They wanted to copy the PSX controller onto the keyboard.. For FF8 you use the arrows to control and W A S and X to do stuff. for FF7 you have to use the numeric arrows to move.. MGS1 and 2 for PC have terrible control as well. Even though you can change them, it's hard to map a PS2 controller..

FFVII was horrific on the PC compared to the Playstation, and don't get me started on Metal Gear Solid 2, my god, my wife told me to stop playing both of them due her getting annoyed at the sound of the space bar continually being slapped down.

As for TF2, I own it, but have yet to find the time to play it :(. So if there is DLC for it, I wouldn't know what I'm missing out on :)

Ah, yes. FFVII and the numeric keypad. Try playing that on most Laptops^o).
Of course they did release a patch, they sure didn't make it easy to find. Although this laptop has a numeric keypad, so problem solved...for me anyways.
Since I believe you have gotten TF2 rather recent, it will come with the scout update already. So it should be up to date and ready to go.

The scout update is an excellent add-on. The Force-A-Nature is powerful and can still reload pretty quick.

Personally I hate the scout update. The Sandman is too powerful and I dislike the idea of getting stunned without anything I can do about it, especially when ubered. I think the scouts who have the new weapons unlocked have too big of an advantage over the ones who haven't (like me), so people start farming for the achievements, which personally I think is kind of cheap how people go to achievement servers because what's the point of achievements if you're just getting them all like that, and it sometimes ruins the game, especially just when the pack got released since everybody was playing scout, not caring about winning, they just want the achievements so they do the weirdest stuff to get an achievement, stuff you wouldn't normally do. So yeah, not a big fan..

"The XBox 360 update is still being worked on. If you're wondering what's taking so long, since the content is "done" on the PC already, it's mostly been around fitting it all onto the XBox. The original version of TF2 in the Orange Box was very close to the XBox's memory limit, and all the additional TF2 content we've produced has pushed well beyond it. We've found a couple of nifty ways to get back a bunch of that memory, but it's turned out to be a lot of work, and that's what most of our time is being spent on. In the meantime, we're going to get a code update out to address the server cheating that's going on."

Ah yes, there is a lot of that going about. Someone spawned about 100 cows on the capture point at one time (The wooden cows you'll find on the outside of the map "2Fort"). Although we still actually beat them. There was one small place you could stand on as a scout and it would capture it. The modder was tending to someone else to kill. They did that kill everyone code right when I capped it. It was the last round of DustBowl.

The one thing that annoyed me the most is they've already fixed Left 4 Dead's server cheating but haven't finished fixing TF2 for 360 yet.
