Haven't seen much on Digiex about this issue but thought it'd be something interesting to discuss here seeing as it's game related and we're all consumers of games and the journalism that goes with it. Zoe Quinn, do a quick Google search on her and be ready to be shocked! I personally don't agree with the slut shaming she's been subjected to but the influence she seems to have on the gaming scene is rather worrying! I also suggest people look up a good cause called The Fine Young Capitalists. It's aim is to get women and/or womens ideas into the indie game scene. This is something that Zoe Quinn apparently condones and she had them doxxed and blackballed by the major games websites such as IGN and Kotaku. When the makers of this campaign tried to get the story out they were told no one would run the story, they should shut down their campaign and give all proceedings made so far to Zoe Quinns game jam. One that has no start date, no content and seems to be just another way for her to get some money! Here's some interesting reading material for you guys:

Why Is The Zoe Quinn Scandal Blacked Out Across The Internet?

Here's the link to the Fine Young Capitalists website:

    And their Indiegogo campaign: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-fine-young-capitalists--2

I voted for Afterlife Empire myself as it reminds me of Theme Hospital and Ghost Master and donated $5 for when the game is hopefully released :)

I've not really heard much about her to be honest, however from the links you provided she been two faced to a lot of people, messing their life up. It's probably what goes on in all industry's to be honest, and rather embarrassing / bad for the industry when it comes out too.

I agree she didn't deserve all what shes been subjected to though, its all too easy for something like this to get out of hand on the internet.

Ill have a read of the other links later on.

Game developers and journalists are now asking the gaming community to be quiet and not criticise them on the internet....... If I don't like a game I let people know. If I write a bad review here on Digiex will it get taken down by someone threatening to sue? So sad and pathetic, some great articles on this website about the whole affair and their response to this letter:

It reminds me of when Team 17 released Worms 2: Armageddon in a broken state on Xbox Live, we were originally asked to take that article down, however that's about all Team 17 could do. It's freedom of speech and was true and a honest summery of all the problems with the game which took many months to finally be fixed.

I'm sure they could try and sue, however it would be a hard case to win in the UK anyway.

It's an embarrassing situation for all involved.

This guy on Youtube has a few videos that talks all about it. He goes into pretty good detail about it all.

The Fine Young Capitalists made their goal and it has just been announced that Afterlife Empire won the votes and the game is being made :) . It brings to light the role of Zoe Quinn in the whole affair and the games journalism industry plus more. An article written by a woman about a group of men and women doing all they can to help more women get into the games industry :)
