Folks, I have wondered this.....I use the download section here to update my 360 game's patches and title updates because I dont have Live. So I download them and transfer them to my console thru the Xport 360 My question is, when a game has 2, 3 or sometimes even 4 title updates/patches, is it necessary to download ALL of the patches or will downloading the LAST Patch/Title Update include all the previous patches??
That's a good question. I actually don't know the answer to that one because most patches only fix a certain aspect of the game so it seems like you would need all the patches since they adjust different things. I could be wrong though.
I believe you only need the latest title update, i will try and check at some point as ive recently hacked a new 250gig drive for my 360 so will check with a game that has more than 1 update to see.
yes you only need the latest update, as they contain everything that the other patches contain plus whatever else was updated after those..
Also, Are GAME PATCHES and TITLE UPDATES locked to a user's console or gamertag once they download them then share them here? If so, then they wouldnt even work would they if someone copied them from their console and shared them here? Anyone know how game patches work?....can they be shared to any console and profile if they were pulled from another console?
Yup title updates work on any console and any profile. However some games that have multiple versions will require the title update from your region.
So does that mean that I can hook up my xbox360 harddrive to another xbox 360 that can go online to update my games? If I save those games updates on my harddrive and put it back onto my 360, would that work? OR would I need to use xport/xplorer360 to transfer them?
Taking your hard drive to another 360 that can go online would work. You would just have to boot your copy of the game while signed into Live for the updates to take place. After the update, you can return the drive to your 360 with the patch applied and it will work offline.
