Gears of War 3 Limited Edition - £44.97 delivered @ GameStop UK - £15 cheaper than most other places.

Gears of War 3 - 37.99 delivered @ Amazon UK - all look to be around that price at the moment, you could get it for £30ish not so long ago however.

Anyone else plan on getting Gears 3?

Yup, pre-orded the limited for $80 or $90 AU or something. I think I'm getting mine from the hut as I had a bunch of discount codes.

I never knew The Hut was in Australia too, i believe that's where the normal edition of Gears 3 was around £30 with codes the other week.

One of the things about Australia is prices suck, but being PAL we just import everything. With the dollar not being to bad you can get special deals online that work out way cheaper than in store. So I've been buying from The Hut even though its UK for ages now.
There's probably things for each country but in Australia, GameCafe.com.au is a great way of finding cheap games in store and import.

edit> Wow, this forum auto completed the hell out of that link, makes it seem like an advertisement.

Ah that makes sense, I just never figured importing games from the UK would actually be cheaper for Australians.

Games here are expensive in my opinion compared to other countries, however with codes on stuff i've usually got pretty good deals online which have worked out £15+ cheaper than in stores.

We have a couple of sites like that too:

HotUKDeals - if there is a deal in the UK, it will likely be on here.
Cheap Ass Gamer - specialises in cheap game deals
Find Games - general website that compares a lot of the major retails

The auto complete thing is usually good, except when websites have there page titles like an advert lol.

Pre-ordered the limited edition from Amazon.co.uk. Had a £20 voucher so it's only going to cost me £41 with shipping. Hoping to get it the day it releases but we'll see :) Horde mode looks much improved and that was the MP feature I played a ton of in Gears 2. Beast mode also looks great as you get to be the Locust taking out Cog soldiers. Can't wait to see what monsters you can control. Should bring some much needed, interesting changes to MP.

I wish there was a mode which was essential beast and horde combined. Humans against humans rather than against AI.
I guess it would be hard to balance and would be to similar to regular deathmatch.

Yeah, you might as well just play Deathmatch with bots.

I really don't know if I'm even gonna get this game. Epic has kinda pissed me off for how much they screw over their fans. Ex. Challenges that require achievements from other games will only unlock if the achievement was earned online, which is bull. They have also threatened to ban people who upload videos of the campaign to the internet. Since when were spoilers a bannable offense?

Since when was obtaining an illegal copy of the game not a bannable offense? Yes it's illegal as the game hasn't been released yet and the beta was not open to the public (not the MP one that happened recently). I think they'd be more inclined to ban people for playing it this early especially as the beta version isn't the finished product. Besides you'd have to be pretty stupid to think they'd not get upset about people spoiling the game for others who have no means of obtaining the beta and want to know everything about the game. Perhaps those people saw something they didn't like and then cancelled their preorder or decided to not get the game anymore. Loss of sales for Epic there. Hope you can see the other side of the argument now Andami?

There are always two (or more) sides to every situation. I still don't think that banning is the right (or practical) thing to do though.

It's more than likely an empty threat. They said the same thing about the Multiplayer Beta, anyone who played without redeeming a code would be banned and I haven't been banned, of course to ban because of this would be a loss in profit and stupid on their part. I'm pretty sure they won't ban because of this too but I can agree. The whole meaning to get the game is to experience it yourself not watch some spoiler online. If you watch it what's the point of playing? I suppose they see their threat as a necessary evil to stop the spread, pointless but it won't stop them from making stupid threats.

I'd like to get in on some horde action, alot better than playing online with randoms. Depending on time zones n such of course.

I really don't understand why Gears Of War is so popular, I've only played the Gears Of War 3 Beta. It was prett OK, but not something that I can buy, I found it quite boring.

Gears is not some crap thats been churned out every year like Call of Duty, the campaign is immersive with a great story.
The multiplayer is something fresh if you ask me, its not like all the other generic shooters out there. I guess it depends on your tastes more than anything.
