Here is a very interesting article on Torrentfreak about TV networks in Australia that believe local people are 'pirating' Netflix with help from VPN services, despite these people actually paying to use Netflix. Read: VPN Users 'Pirating' Netflix Scare TV Networks | TorrentFreak
Well by the same logic I'm a pirate as I have a local netflix account in my region but use DNS tricks to access the US content: Unblock-us Review (Watch Netflix, Hulu and more outside the US) Maybe instead of labeling them as pirates, the studios could use there brain cells and figure out that's demand for a legal paid service for TV streaming. To be honest the whole Media scene across Movies, TV and music could go with globalization and have one licensing body for the whole world instead of the fractured system we currently work in where every country has its own license body, it's own service and different lock in's with different providers. If they come down and try and block these users, there only other action will be piracy. Now anyone with any average IQ would realize that money paid to studios via netflix vs piracy with no income is better than nothing.
Restricting netflix to other regions make no sense. Hopefully these networks lose money for complaining about this.
