    hi from yorkshire,
    just joined as i think i may have found the perfect bit of software for my windows 7 machine.....windows 98 virtual machine.
    i cant tell you how much i am looking forward to using this....cant wait to get playing on my old dos favs.terminal velocity for one..that pumping soundtrack is awesome.

    Hello and welcome to Digiex from a fellow Yorkshire person!

    For old Dos games you might find Dosbox better suited, however the Windows 98 VM should play some older Windows 9x games that will just not work on anything newer.

    virtual machine includes dosbox which is great.no configuring.just had a go at superfrog and it runs great.but thanks for the heads up.i had dosbox when i had vista but stopped using it.
    btw...when vm98 starts i get a network id pop up.do you know how to disable it ?
    a note to the creators of this virtual beast...my many,many thanks...you dont know how much i'm gonna enjoy using it.

    Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Network

    The primary network logon is likely set to "Client for Microsoft Networks", change this to "Windows Logon" and you shouldnt be asked to logon anymore.

    Not sure how i remembered that, its been years since i used Windows 98 lol. I think back in the Windows 98 days if you did that you could have a list of user accounts on the computer, like the Windows XP logon screen.
