Any possible uses for an Xbox 360 HDD that won't work?

I should have titled this uses or fixes, sorry for that mistake.

I have two 360 HDD's both 250GB. One when I plug it in just has A bunch of corrupted files. When it corrupted I tried to format it and it didn't work. The second one is brand new, I gave my brother A Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Xbox 360 for Christmas. I think he tried to update it and it wouldn't work. I can't remember what happened with his. Coincidentally mine was from A Modern Warfare 2: 360 as well. I have A transfer cable, my laptop won't seem to recognize it or my HDD's.

I'd like to find some way of getting them to work again, even if I can't use them for my 360 I could hopefully use them as external drives for my Wii or laptop.

Alright, I'll try that later today and see if I can even get my laptop to recognize them. Do you also happen to know A way to turn them into USB drives? I've taken them apart before, maybe I could get A new enclosure and connect them with USB.

The first one lags really bad when it's hooked up. I managed to get to the system storage and it says it's unformatted. I'll try to format it again, see what problem I run into. It just says formatting in progress then finishes and stays unformatted. This is definitely not going to work and seriously pissing me off. I'll have to turn it into A USB HDD. The second one (my original), now it's hard to tell. It too just gets stuck at the Xbox startup screen. I'll just have to wait until I get some money, buy those enclosures and make them into USB drives. One for my Wii & PC or get A USB hub and format them to work as one drive.

    Thank you for the help!
