    Hey,

So I recently purchase a banned xbox from a friend for pretty cheap, but now I realized I can't install any games to the hard drive as a result. I know the recent dashboard update allows this once more, but I was wondering if there was a way to use xplorer360 or some other way to do the same thing while keeping my dashboard version the same.

I've tried searching around on a few forums but no luck.

    Thanks :)

You cant do it using Xplorer 360, you need to un-cripple the banned 360 then install the games as normal.

There is a great guide on Xbox-Scene on how to do this.

How come you don't want to upgrade to the latest dashboard anyway?

Ah, I was afraid of that.

The reason I'm trying to keep my dashboard as low as possible is on the off chance that a new exploit (rare, I know) does come out. I'm also unsure at the moment what else the newest dashboard patches on the system.

Although not impossible the chances of another exploit been found and developed to the point of this one are very small.

In all honesty I would sell the console you have now and buy one that can be exploited, as time progresses 360's that can be exploited like this will be worth more and become harder to find.

True. I decided to cave in and update. At least that fixed my problem of Borderlands freezing.
