    Hi everyone,

I stumbled upon this forum earlier while searching for the words "pfSense" and "Switch". You can guess what happened, I think. I've read a little here and there, and maybe I'll stick around for a bit.

So, a few words to introduce myself, now. As you guessed I'm an IT passionate (I've just recently made it my official work, yeay :D ) and a Nintendofag. Nothing against the others (in fact I've borrowed my friends' PS3 and 360 in the past), but just my priority when I have some cash to spend. ^.^

In computer stuff, I kind of play around with everything. I've programmed my fair share of bash scripts, I made a crappy (but with a special place in my heart) IRC bot in C, just for fun, that kind of stuff. I'm a huge free (speech) software enthousiast, and I try my best to keep a decentralized electronic life, even if it's not always easy.

As a gamer, my main sources of gaming are the Nintendo consoles, and the very few PC games I'm able to run. If I stay for a bit, you'll realize I can't talk enough about Ace Attorney, since it's the best game ever in my eyes (Zelda who, now ?). In the multiplayer aspect I'm a huge sucker for "just for fun" types of games like Smash Brothers, Worms, and the likes. Oh, and also Tetrinet. Anyone remembers Tetrinet ? Please ?

Anyway, this is beginning to feel really self-centered, so I'll stop now. As I said above, I think this forum suits me, so you'll probably see more of me. Have a good day. :)

Quick question though : what is the engine of this place ? I don't think I recognize it. Is it home made ? If so, from what I've seen it's awesome !
EDIT : Nevermind, found my answer.

Haha, yes, of course. Though Smash 4 is pretty close to perfect and I wouldn't mind if they took the time to developp a real opus for the Switch instead of a port. Or if the Smash series stopped, even. I mean Sakurai seems at the end of his patience with this series, and with Smash 4 it could end right now on a very high note.

But... Since it's one of the biggest sales on the 3DS and Wii U, we'll probably have one on the Switch, either a port or a sequel, and of course I'll buy it. I'm just afraid they'll sell new adapters for the GameCube controllers and/or even for the Wii U controllers. :-/

For the first time ever, I'd be happy playing Smash on the non-gamecube controllers with the new Switch Pro Controllers - they are so unbelievably comfy! I say this as a guy that owns an Xbox and loves the controllers - for once Nintendo actually made a nice Pro Controller.

I'm kinda hoping they just release Smash as it is for the Wii U, maybe a few extra characters/stages; but ultimately to get it onto the Switch with the improved online play. No need to totally re-design what is a great functional game :D

Yeah no, of course, I mean I agree with all of that (except for the Wii U Pro, I actually love this controller for all games but Smash. I haven't had the occasion to try the Switch Pro, though). It would be awesome if it came to Switch "as is", especially since we then would have a *portable* Smash but as good as the Wii U version. I love the Smash 3DS, but it does feel a little light when compared to its little brother. I'm just worried that the next one, if there will be one, will finally drive Sakurai to the edge. If he drops out of the project (as he said he wants to do since Brawl), the licence would have a good chance to... Well... Suck. And if he does participate, I'm honestly worried the guy would stop eating and sleeping for the few months before the release. In my opinion the best course of action is to keep Smash 4, but continue to expend it with characters as DLC. They are pricey and I'm not fan of the idea, but it'd still be less risky than developping a whole new episode.

But yeah, again, I can't wait for the inevitable Smash 4 for Switch. Although I don't think the Wii U online was that bad. It was incredibly laggy when played in public matches, but in private friends rooms, most of the time I had a game as smooth as when played locally. Seriously.
