I've just started using my 360 again which is flashed with LT3.0. Of course a dashboard update was required to play new games. I loaded the latest dashboard update onto a USB pen and everything was going fine till an error appeared stating I didn't have enough storage. I clicked cancel and my xbox froze meaning the only solution was to turn it off. At the stage this happened, the update had already partly downloaded and restarted the console ready to install. The console now thinks it's running that dashboard (even says so in console version) and won't play the new games just shows the error pf disc type not supported. The flash is definitely still there, it's playing older games.

Loading the update on USB pen again isn't working since it thinks I already full have this dashboard. Any other solutions? Cheers

So that actual error shown on screen is simply "pf disc type not supported" no error codes or anything like that?

I've never heard of anything like that before. It appear the update has applied fine, essentially the part it appears to have failed on is installing the avatar / kinect data by the sound of it. Do you see the avatar on the dashboard?

If you connect to Xbox Live the console should download this missing data. Try that then see what happens.

I'm pretty sure there's an error code would that help you?

Doesn't prompt any sort of update when connected to live either. Very strange.

It might do, if you can connect to live then your fully updated.

Do any games on disc at all work?

Can connect to live yeah which is strange. Older burned games are working and retail copies working fine. The two I can't get workined is Sniper Elite 3 and MGS. They are both definitely working cause they were loading before the update. Is there no way to force or re-download the dash? Or would this only work if a newer dash was released.

I'm not really sure what else to suggest there, do new legit games work from disc?

Maybe burn a copy of FIFA 15 and see if that works, if it doesn't then its likely a problem with the firmware. If it works then something could be wrong with your backups.

Thats all I can think of really to maybe narrow the issue down.
