Bit late to the party, but I’ve just found this thread. Since you have the distribution of Aura Mew does that mean you have no interest in examples of Mew that were downloaded from the actual event?

I attended the second UK event in Teesside (the first was in Scotland), and went back just a couple of times (lol) for more with multiple different colour cartridges. It’s lucky it was a fine day, as they made us all stand around outside of Toys R Us. I was the first person to make them available for trade on Gamefaqs. I kept back some of them (untouched and uncloned), they’re currently resident in Pokémon Bank. I’d be happy to provide their details if that was something anyone cared about.

Yeah, examples of Mew are simply not worthy.
I would like to hear details about this tho!

I attended the Italian "Pokémon Day" event in summer 2007 that took place in Mirabilandia amusement park, there were a lot of Pokémon activities and fans from all over Italy. There was also the Italian premiere of the movie "Lucario and the Mystery of Mew".

We had the "Pokémon Day" (it actually lasted two days, during a July or June weekend) in Mirabilandia every year from 2005 to 2014, they were my favourite days of the year.

To be honest apart from what I’ve already mentioned there’s not much else I can say with certainty! There was only one guy giving out the Mew, and tbh there were so few people there they didn’t need more. That’s what you get for doing the event in the back of beyond! I didn’t drive at the time and getting the bus there was a right pain in the backside. I had to get the bus to Middlesbrough, then to the general area, then walk down the main road to get to the shop. It actually made me quite nervous because it was a proper, fast-paced road. They should have done it at the Metrocentre - there’s a Toys R Us there too.

The guy giving out the Mew was standing at the front of the shop, then (if I’m right) round the other side they had some fake grass where a few people were hanging out. I remember seeing some posters for the film, Lucario & the mystery of Mew, and I think they had a tv up too playing the film trailer and other bits and bobs. Once you’d been there five minutes you’d seen and done it all. I hung out and did some trading, but nothing particularly special. I think that’s where I ended up buying the first movie on DVD.

Hello, I'm French and I wouldlike to say big thanks to save all those distribution rom!

Are you sûre about mew event in France?
I found an information on only one website about event at Toys R Us Paris in december 2006.

I have searched on a famous French video game Forum ( jeuxvideo.com). I searched in 2006 and nobody talk about an event.
I have bought a bootleg cartridge on aliexpress. I Hope I can flash it with my DS Lite and distribution Rom.

    Thanks!

THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART AND SOUL.
I’m 23 years old, and have been playing FireRed since I was 6. I’ve been playing it on an emulator with my wife for the past two years.
Once I found out I completely missed the opportunity to add Mew to the Pokédex, I was dumbfounded and as devastated as someone with first-world problems can get.
I’ve been researching, and reading, and downloading, and transferring, all to no avail. UNTIL I stumbled across this forum.
I can say with the utmost happiness that today, Mew has been registered in my Pokédex, and I can continue playing and completing a game that has been near and dear to my family for years.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

    Hi all,

very late to the party, but recently got a retro handheld and was playing some pokemon fire red when I started to look into mew. Brought me right back to my childhood.

Thank you to everyone who made this happen. I managed to get mew in my game, my only question is now he’s on LV11 he’s starting to ignore orders, is this normal for a legal mew? I haven’t played any of the gb/gba pokemon games in well over 20 years so well out of the loop. I only found out there’s legal and illegal mews from doing research on how to obtain one.

It's normal if you don't have the required gym badges for the level of the Mew. The more gym badges you obtain raises the level of Pokemon that will obey you. See here: Obedience - Bulbapedia

    Hey everyone!
First of all I would like to thank everyone for this amazing effort of fulfilling our childhood dreams.

I recently used this method to obtain an Aura Mew, everything worked fine, but I noticed that mew is not obeying me, is that expected?

I just beat brock and he is at level 11.

I know that hacked mew won’y obey so this is why I am surprised, anyone else experiencing this?

Edit: Firered doesn’t start obeying till you beat Misty.

Yes its expected, you need to beat the gyms and collect gym badges to increase Pokemon's obedience levels.

    If I remember correctly:

Cerulean Gym = Level 30 Pokemon will obey you
Celadon Gym = Level 50 Pokemon will obey you
Saffron Gym = Level 70 Pokemon will obey you
Viridian Gym = Level 100 Pokemon will obey you

It behaves like every traded Pokémon in gen III.
In FRLG, as you said, you need al least the Cascade Badge to reach the "first level" of obedience (lv 30).

What you said about hacked Mew in gen III is correct: every Mew or Deoxys that were not met in a "fateful encounter" will always disobey the player, regardless of Badges. But, of course, here we have the official distribution rom, so this is not the case.
