Read more: Announcing the Windows 8 Editions Personally i'm not happy Media Center is now not part of Windows and will just be distributed as an add on, i've got a feeling it will be dropped by Windows 9, if not hardly updated anymore. I'll try Windows 8 again when it RTM's, however to me i don't really see it as an upgrade for desktop users at all, if anything a downgrade.
They are taking this whole app theme too far, most people are already used to windows vista / 7 .Its difficult to find anything on windows 8.
This is silly. They require by 2014 for people to pass on to Windows 7 but they're already advancing to Windows 8 making W7 outdated, come on Microsoft.
I am going to use Windows 8 on my laptop because it is really nice and feels very well rounded and is nice and simple. But for my pc I am sticking with 7 and on the net a while back and I found a really cheap win 7 tablet without a key so I decided to install this on it and OMG it is the best tablet os ever just need some apps!
I am happy with windows 8 consumer preview since its release. Happy to know it got its editions announced.
