Here is the Optional Media Update that will allow your Xbox 360 to playback MP4, Divx and XviD.

This will only work on jtaged or RGH consoles that are running a hacked kernel / dashboard.

How to use:

Open \Content\0000000000000000 and then copy the \FFFE07DF\00000002 folders inside there.

This will not run from a CD / DVD or work on a non jtag hacked console.

Download:

Download Xbox 360 Optional Media Update (New in December 2011)

Older update:

1) Rut both files through Yaris Swap then copy it to \Content\0000000000000000\FFFE07DF\00000002 on partition 3 if your Xbox 360’s hard drive.

Remember do not just dump the content folder of this on your Xbox 360’s hard drive otherwise it will overwrite everything else.

Download the Optional Media Update (Old Dashboard, any before 13604 i think)

Basically It’s a hack for the Xbox 360 that lets you run your own code on the console, with this hack you can now run a patched dashboard that has a lot of the security checks removed.

Because a lot of the security is removed from the dashboard you can use console locked content such as this optional media update.

As this is console locked it will only work on the console that originally downloaded it or a hacked console.

I just wanted to say a big thanks for posting this info ive been looking for 2 hours trying to find this solution. I had to join the site to post a reply and say thanks Im now streaming a 1TB usb hd trough my xbox its like having movies on demand around here jatgged boxes rule. is this work with usb? e.g if I am update this with usb? and copy all contents in root of usb? or make a folder like Content\0000000000000000\FFFE07DF\00000002 in usb?

please help me out
 
and how to update is using Yaris Swap?, can I use Yaris Swap on my laptop? or I have to install it in Xbox 360?

Note: I don't have hard drive for xbox 360

Please help
 
If you have the new update that uses memory sticks as memory cards you could try dumping to a unknown folder and then copy it to the hard drive mate or if you have internal memory on the xbox arcade you can copy to that

Not at all, a legit console would need to download this from live its self to get a licence as I said.

He said a "Non-Jtagged" Xbox 360, aka one that is not Jtag hacked. Running it through Yaris Swap or XM360 will do nothing for him except corrupt the content.

Ive not had to download a new version on my legit console for years now, so as it works on that with the new dash you should be fine on 12625, just YarisSwap it as instructed and your set.

Edited... Understood now, YarisSwap to unlock the protection in codecs.
