    As you can guess from the name the Vista version of Yahoo Messenger will not work on Windows XP, however if you download the version of Yahoo Messenger attached in this post you will be able to run it under Windows XP, how you might ask? Here goes:

    1. Download Yahoo Messenger Vista For Windows XP
    2. Extract the downloaded file, find the dotnetfx3setup.exe file and run it
    3. Finally run Yahoo.Messenger.YmApp.exe and you can enjoy the Yahoo Messenger Vista version in Windows XP
