It's out finally. It caught me by surprise considering Microsoft has been pretty quiet about the release date. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...12-a5c3199ea2b3 32bit http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...d7-b1a6fedf51a7 64bit So you can really feel the speed improvement. From what I've been able to test it's a tiny bit faster than the beta of 7.
Nice I didn’t know this was officially out, Digiex had this in April but shh - https://digiex.net/applications/133...-sp2-rtm-6002-18005-32bit-x86-64-bit-x64.html On older hardware such as my laptop there was a speed improvement, on my pc I didn’t really notice any difference what so ever. I’ve found the Windows 7 RC is still more responsive then Vista SP2.
Downloaded it for 2 PCs at work. Hardly noticed any change except that the SP was quicker to install than the first one. Thinking of going for Windows 7 soon
Have any of you had any issues after installing this? Like system crashing, programs not compatible, decreased boot up times, etc? Installing SP1 caused me all sorts of troubles (like 4 minute boot times) and I finally had to reinstall Vista and SP1 together to get things sorted out.
No issues here, My only complaint is Vista Glazz hasn’t been updated to support SP2 yet so I can’t have transparency when Windows are maximised. Hopefully you shouldn’t have any problems.
Vista Glazz for SP2 Released: Changelog of the new version: * Support for Windows Vista Service Pack 2 * New patching process * Faster application startup * Diagnostic screen for support (-diag commandline) * General bug fixes/optimizations Link
