New Left 4 Dead Pack Coming

It appears that Valve is still attempting to show affection to the original Left 4 Dead community. Valve has announced a new DLC pack for the game, which will be released in September on PC and Xbox 360. The DLC will feature new content for the single-player, multi-player, and co-op game modes.

PC gamers will be able to download the pack for free, but Xbox gamers will have to pay 540 Microsoft Points.

Isnt September when L4D2 is coming out? But anyways, I'm glad to see an addon being map for the game, I own the game on both PC and Xbox 360, but to think they would charge for an update on Xbox and make it free on PC is outragous.

I think it is outrageous as well. I hate that I have to pay for the DLC, but of course I'm going to because I enjoy L4D.

Though this would probably be Microsoft at fault and not Valve but yes its still bull shit. This should be a Microsoft gold exclusive, getting the DLC for free. So far all the Gold exclusive is, is getting games that no one really wants at a discount and getting some demos for free. I just love how you can get something free just a little bit earlier then some people. They almost make it seem as if paying for gold membership isn't making Microsoft any money.

L4D2 is being released in November. I think Valve stated they're not going to give up on L4D1 when they release the sequel but we shall see what happens with the games and community in November. At least this will inject some more interest back into the original game. More campaigns is a good thing!

That’s pretty harsh, the 360 versions costs more and 360 players have to pay for the DLC.

I own the PC version so I’m not to annoyed about this, It is a bit harsh how a lot of things have to have a price on the 360, usually because Microsoft don’t like stuff being free.

Yeah, I know. Isn't it ironic that they get it for free and they don't have to pay any subscription fee (besides for internet itself). While we have to pay for internet, 360 subscription (gold), and then on top of that we still even have to pay for the DLC?

I kinda agree with you there, although I do think like is worth the money I find that I don’t really play online enough anymore to make it worthwhile. I used to play just about every day back when Gears 1 and Halo 3 were pretty new games.

I’ve always thought if its free on PC it should be free on the console version too, if you look at PC games you can get 100’s of map for free, get on consoles your paying £10 / $20+ for 3 or 4 maps. Extra maps is one thing I’ve always refused to buy on live.
