    Hi
Has there ever been any discussion of a Buy/Sell section on digiex?

i think it would be a good addition to the forum, as long as there is a minimum post count before being able to post and strict rules on what can be sold

Of course there may well be Such a forum in the Members Hideout ... cant see it yet

I can tell you that there isn't one in the Members' Hideout, but that's it. I don't really think this would be a good idea. While I don't have a problem with anyone here, I still don't think I could trust someone I don't know over the internet. If you really want buy and sell stuff with other people, I would use CAG. They have a huge buy/sell/trade community for games and etc.

Well i have to disagree here , i am a member of a quite a few forums and some i have posted quite a lot on and some not much, i spend a lot of time looking at peoples posts and their replies too, this gives me a good idea of what most people are like

While its not a failsafe way of deciding a persons character it goes a long way to give me an idea of [/URL]how honest that person is

I can safely say that i would do business with quite a few people on Digiex if they were selling something i wanted or i had stuff for sale

I myself Hate the fact that people attempt to rip people off and do everything i can to make sure any service i provide is as top notch as it can be

If there was a properly managed buy/sell forum here and a feedback section for it too i think it would be an asset

Not sure if you can view this unless you have 10 posts or more on this forum

I don't think its something digiex would really want to do at all because if something were to go wrong in the deal none of the affiliates at digiex would like to be blamed over something they had no control over.

Its not that its a bad idea, just wouldn't want someone to get scammed in any way.

I could view it, so there isn't a post limit. I guess I could see this working on this site, but it would probably have to go in the Member's Hideout if it was implemented. Still, it doesn't matter what I think, it's InsaneNutter and Nimrod's site (I think anyway), so it's their choice.

Ok there could never be any guarantee someone would never get scammed

But on the plus side there could be useable restrictions to help avoid it happening , for a start, minimum post amount before any entry is allowed to such an area , conditions of content to be sold, like no programs or other copyright material etc as well as unlawful products like knives or other stuff

And an approval scheme, Ie you can become an approved seller, well known to provide a decent service

Either way i guess this subject has been discussed by the site owners and an opinion has been formed

I have no intention of selling anything like the Jtag'd Xbox's i sell on Se7ensins on any other forum

But if for instance Nutter had an old AGP video card sitting about he wanted to get rid of i would happily have bought it from him

I get the impression that with a few exceptions this site is populated by down to earth people who prefer to express themselves with decent conversation and like to treat people as they themselves would like to be treated

It is so nice to be part of a forum where every second post is not a total flameout or an insult or a seemingly random collection of typed upper case rubbish

The idea had honestly never crossed my mind, I don't think it has even been suggested before either. If done right it could be a good idea I agree, I'm not sure how many people would actually want to buy / sell on Digiex, although I guess having the option is always a nice thing to do.

Having read most the threads posted on Digiex at some point I know right away who I would trust and who I wouldn't when it comes to something like this.

I think it goes without saying that buying and selling on a forum can never be 100% safe, however I do agree that with feedback and looking at the posts the member has made I believe you could get a pretty good idea how trustworthy that person is likely to be.

The only trouble is if someone gets scammed Digiex could do nothing about it, the police could not really do anything either so I would feel pretty bad if that ever happened on here.

However I do see this as something that could work in the members only area if done right, of course that limits who could actually see what a member is selling, but hopefully greatly reduces the chance of any scams taking place.

Its definitely something I would bring up when we next have a talk about upgrading / adding to Digiex anyway.

Strangely enough I do have a fair few AGP cards that have just been sitting around for years, nothing that would be of any real use though. The newest card would be at least 6 years old so would play no games released within the last few years.

As most of the members are in the UK it probably could work, but I also know that there are members in the US, little ol' me downunder, and a some from other scattered countries. For those in the US it may be cheaper to purchase gear and stuff online from stores within the US, i.e. Newegg. I wouldn't have a use for a trade section unless we start getting more Aussie members. Ya'll in the UK, no worries from what I can see.

    I'm open to the idea..

But if anything to make it easier just post the item up here.. and conclude the rest of the deal on e-bay or something.

for example I'm in Canada.. they don't sell Pro Evolution here. I wouldn't mind 2010 .. or Football Manager.. all we have in North America is Fifa.

It's a good idea. The safest way I agree with is to post the links to your product on ebay or something.

@Sessions; Fifa is much better anyway ;)
