Tomorrow, Xbox.com will be getting a massive facelift and I want to give you a preview of what you can expect. In addition to support for the 9 new Xbox LIVE regions that will happen next month, Xbox.com will get a brand new look as well as some new features. Here are some highlights: Browser based Avatar editor: Edit your avatar and preview avatar items before purchase Combined views for messages, friend and game requests Improved notification of your account subscription Leverage Family Reports to understand what your family is doing and how they are using LIVE Play web games with your Xbox LIVE friends on the web or on Windows Phone 7 Marketplace: More powerful search and more intuitive ways to browse and filter Those are just a few of the changes, starting tomorrow you’ll be able to explore the entire thing yourself. Until then, have a look at the attached photos below! Note: In order to prepare for these changes, starting at 0500 ET/0200 PT/0900 GMT on October 20th (tomorrow) Xbox.com and the Xbox forums will be offline and unavailable for a short period of time. When it returns, you’ll see the new site! The Xbox LIVE service is not affected by this upgrade and will remain available during this time. Source: MajorNelson.com P.S. I can't wait to try the browser based Avatar editor. Just from the screenshot's it looks like it will be a excellent addition to Xbox.com.
I have to agree with King, the browser based avatar editor looks great. Live gamers who only play on the PC or Windows Phone 7 will be able to have avatars too now.
Windows Phone 7 has built-in avatar editor. CHECK THIS OUT: New Finnish support site has the new style: http://support.xbox.com/fi-fi/Pages/default.aspx Edit: English version: http://support.xbox.com/en-gb/pages/default.aspx Also https://myservice.xbox.com/en-GB/Pages/Welcome.aspx is new
Ah I never knew that about Windows Phone 7. Its good to see the website is a lot more organised, I honestly got totally lost on the old one at times... especially when trying to find the redeem code box, for some reason I always had trouble with that.
You should watch this video: [video=youtube;k6KRjT24ty4] It is cool that you can get 200 Gamerscore points from every Windows Phone 7 XBL game. If you download the Zune PC software from zune.net you can see the games released for WP7
There will be 1000's of servers powering Xbox.com, the update will have to be pushed out to them all which I guess will take a bit of time. You probably randomly hit a server that had been updated.
