Hi everybody! New to the thread here and I could REALLY use some help. I am trying to use a WD3200BEVS. My first run through of hddhackr didn't seem to go too bad. I did everything I was supposed to in hddhackr, put the hard drive in my xbox, and tried formatting it. The xbox tried to format it, but it would sit there for about 5 minutes trying to format and then it would take me back to all my other storage devices saying that the hacked hard drive was unformatted. I went back into hddhackr to try hack the hard drive again to see if that would make a difference. What I realized later was that I overwrote my undo.bin file and I need to see if I can get my hands on a copy of it so that I can run some diagnostics on the drive and attempt the hack again. I could really use whatever help I can get and thanks in advance!

Thanks for the super quick response rick550. I downloaded that zip file and there are no undo.bin files for my drive. There is a considerable amount of 3200BEVT undo.bin files, but there are none for the BEVS. What would you say my options are?

Don't undo the drive, try using hddhackr v1.30 and use the create partitions option and try the formatting in the xbox.

    Still stuck

I tried creating the partition in my xbox and it still got stuck with the formatting. It shouldn't matter that I am using a 320gb drive in a pre-slim xbox, right? I'm still stuck and don't know what else to do. This hack has become more frustrating than I had anticipated...

Sometimes if a hard drive is corrupt or has bad sectors it might fail to format, try undoing the drive and see what kind of drive its displayed as.

    Undo

So my drive is connected to port 0 and it shows examples for if you want to create partitions, dump sectors, etc. this is what I type in only to receive a "No ATA device present" error: C:\>HDDHACKR R 00F0 A0 BACKUP. Am i typing something in the wrong way? I'm using the same laptop that recognized the drive to begin with and I don't know what's going on. Thanks for all your help

I had a family member send me a 250 gig Seagate drive and I tried the other tutorial

I downloaded and installed Hex Workshop: Saved the undo.bin, downloaded and flashed the firmware sectors from the xbox hddss.bin.

Then I started following "this" tutorial: I made the msdos usb drive and put the proper hddhackr on it.

Then I continued to make my partition's. They succeeded successfully however my xbox does not recognize the drive. And now either does my computer. I cannot seem to flash the undo.bin back to the drive. So I assume I am bricked.

Does anyone know if the drive will be recognized by a non jtagged slim? So another words does the xbox have to be jtagged or glitched in order for this drive to work? Or should the drive work in any slim?

One more thing, even though I did not create the undo.bin through hddhackr I used Hex Workshop, should's I being able to restore the undo.bin through hddhackr? Says something about the size of the bin being wrong?

Sounds like I am going to have to fork out 60 bucks on ebay for another 250 gig drive and just make sure its one of the supported western digital drives.

Is there a list of undo.bin for seagate drives anywhere?

I made sure that I was using the latest version of hddhackr. I think the problem I'm having is that I'm not too sure if I am even typing the command in correctly. But the only undo option that I saw was to create a backup bin file. I already have one but I overwrote the original undo file that reverts the drive's identity back to a WD drive. The drive hddhackr says is in my laptop is ST9320325AS and firmware version: 0002CE02. This is the same drive as the drive from the .BIN file says

    Darn

Is there anybody out there with a WD3200BEVS - 26VATO undo.bin file? I would really like to try and avoid using one of the other undo files and risk bricking my drive considering I dished out $50 for the one I have now. I've looked all over the web in hopes of finding another forum with this undo file in there, but there was no luck in finding it. Please help if you can!

You said you got it from newegg refurbished, try doing this.
Undo the drive & rename the old undo file.
Use this tool using dos.WD Support / Downloads / WD Scorpio & AV-25 / WD Scorpio Blue Select the option with writing zeros to the drive,if that fails then get a different drive, also do the other tests.

So this is a little weird after it unformatted its self the other day i left it alone i did all the steps you told me to do and i could only do a partial scan because i couldnt use my friends computer for an hour! i then reran hddhackr re downloaded the 320 gig dump file and created the partitions...when i inserted the harddrive into the slim bam didnt need formatted or a serial number it acted like it was installed the whole time ( i wish that was true because it still erased everything) does that mean its fixed rick550, or will time have to be the real teller?
