9.5 This game is the best and deserves a 10. Everyone has went and got there copy! My gamestop store was packed at 12. Gears 1 rocked, I couldn't stop playing it. I'm very good at it now. Gears 2 having new weapons, characters, story line, maps, it just rocks. Even the characters seem a little more controllable. I don't know if you know what I mean. Though they are a bit more sensitive to the controller. Thats good, if you ever need to turn around fast. I know as soon as I get another 360 or on the 19th. I'll be pwning! Nice review.
I wasnt to impressed with the first one. Dont even have a copy of it I don't know.. It's just not my kind of game. I was using my mum TV for a month (HD) then I went back to my old 21" SD TV and the games look realy crap. At first I thought it was amazing on that TV. Well just need to get back used to it.
You won't regret it. Played Horde last weekend for 3 and a half hours to wave 50 and that was only on casual difficulty. Same length as Portal and really good fun as there's nothing better than just mowing down wave after wave of Locust with a Mulcher. I've also finished the campaign with InsaneNutter and the battles are much bigger and alot more intense than Gears 1. Sometimes they'll have entire armies of Locust you have to kill. The story was pretty good though it does suffer from most games that have 2 in the title meaning it answers a few questions but raises alot more and you know they won't get answered as everything is pointing toward getting answered in a sequel. The ending came at a strange point in the game for me, not all that satisfying and not even at all with the bit after the credits. Also felt that they could've done a better boss fight like they did with Raam in Gears 1 instead of what happens when you face Skorge in Gears 2 . Apart from that the game as a whole was a blast, I can see myself playing the campaign again sometime (if friends need help and probably going co-op on Insane mode as it's insane to try it on your own ). Also I can see myself getting quite alot out of the MP especially Horde mode.
