okay after 1 year I have just got my 1st bad experience quick story purchased sleeping dogs 360 from independent seller said sent it on a Monday waited till Friday no game came messaged them said it had not been sent another week passes Friday (today) says lost it now at this point im thinking did they have game to beigin with btw it was supposedly 1st class recorded with tracking they refunded as I threatened to open a ebay/paypal dispute and that I would report them for fraud to my local police authority so any one else had something similar?
That is the nice thing about Paypal/Ebay, if your product doesn't arrive they will refund you the money. You wouldn't have even needed to report anyone to the police...
yer but that's also a flaw in ebay since 90% of time they side with the buyer while that's all good and whatnot you have the occasional scammer the only way sellers avoid them is by adding tracking
Ive only really had major problems once, many years ago. I purchased two limited edition blue Xbox controllers on Ebay, for the original Xbox. It took them about two months to turn up (from Canada) so i did think i had been ripped off, however they eventually arrived. I recently purchased an external sata cable from this idiot which he never bothered to send, he ignored all my messages, then as soon as i opened a dispute i got a refund from him. He has a lot of good feedback, however he's averaging 100+ bad ones per much... which is quite bad really, never noticed that with his 99% good. Wasn't too bothered as it was £1.50 and i knew i could get it back, just annoyed me as i needed it at the time so ended up buying one else where.
eBay/PayPal is trash. My dad sold a Galaxy Note on it and some guy cancelled payment, $500+ owed. eBay/PayPal may of been great in the past but its degraded so badly over the years...
The police probably wouldn't do much i imagine. I had a friend who sold a PSP on Ebay, the person who purchased it sent him a fake email which looked like it was from Paypal. This email said that he had to ship the item first via recorded delivery, email them the tracking number, then the payment would be released in to his bank account... sure enough he did that and got no money. As he had shipped the PSP abroad the police couldn't do anything. Just a shame he didn't speak to me first, he was new to Ebay at the time and had never sold anything before so i can see why he wouldn't know that's how Ebay worked.
