Thanks to PS Nation for spotted this. It appeared the price for PS4 games will remains the same as the PS3 games. In the Uplay store it repeated that the PS4 collector’s edition versions of Assassin’s Creed IV have the same price as the current gen consoles prices. Meaning the regular versions of Assassin’s Creed 4 will be $60. Down below you can see the image:
You could be right I just looked on amazon.com. Assassins Creed Black Flag PS3 - $59.99 http://www.amazon.com/Assassins-Cre...51&sr=1-1&keywords=assassins+creed+black+flag Assassins Creed Black Flag PS4 - $99.99 Amazon.com: Assassin's Creed 4: playstation 4: Video Games
If the price is going to be the same old $59.99 then there's no change whatsoever, same price but different platform.
I do honestly think they'll only be 60 still instead of 100 and they're just keeping it like this for now to keep people wondering. It's quite obvious that the PC version of these games (provided they get a PC release) will always be superior so I really doubt they would charge 40 dollars more on a console that can't compete with the PC version. I suppose it depends if Sony gets greedy or not.
Game prices always go up when next-gen consoles come out. It goes up at least 5 bucks (max. 10). It has always been that way.
Hmmmmm don't think that applies to the UK. Most games have cost £40 for consoles or £25/£30 for PC for over 10 years now. That spans almost 3 console generations. In fact games used to cost more, they've actually come down in price from the N64/PS1 days (what stores were told the RRP was, usually £50 or £60, no joke). Of course there are exceptions like collectors editions or COD (ugh).
It will be interesting to see when Xbox 720 and PS4 games hit eBay to how much the buyers are willing to pay for them, I'm expecting beyond £80 at this point. Buyers can be pretty obessed and somewhat insane when the auction's in its last minute.
In the U.S. PS1/N64 games were usually 40, PS2/GC/Xbox games were usually 50 and now 360/PS3 games are 60 while I think Wii games are 50. Does the mainstream games cost more than others on release date? Like CoD and Gears? Over here every game is always 60 or lower, unless it's a collectors edition, from what I've seen, no games go above 60, no matter what game it is, provided it's just a basic release.
Games on Amazon/eBay are usually much cheaper. If people want to save money they should stay away from GameStop.
Everyone mis-remembers this. I see games up to $70. The 1996 Toys 'R' Us Holiday Catalog Has All I Want For Christmas @The Amazon price discussion, Amazon always lists ridiculous prices at first as a precaution due to their "If the price changes at all, you pay the cheapest price" policy. They won't list a game at $60 as a bookmark and lose money when it turns out that the game will retail for more than $60.
