flashing partition 2 on new HD

Couple quick questions. After much troubleshooting with formating the hard drive I was finally able to get to the phase where I could flash my partition 2 image onto my new hard drive. It's been in the "restore" phase for over 20 minutes. How long should this take? should I wait or hit cancel and try again? will the corrupt my partition 2?

Also, I was not given an undo.bin file. I found one from that link with the same hard drive but different numbers eg) mines WD2500BEKT-00F3T0 and the one similar was WD2500BEKT-00F3T0

Would it be safe or risky using this undo.bin with my harddrive in case I need to go back and start over. Thanks for all the help!

Couple quick questions. I finally was able to partition my new HD and when I attempted to restore the partition 2 to the new HD the xbox 360 explorer keeps freezing up. I hit cancel and tried again but no luck. Any suggestions?

Also I never got the undo.bin when I formated the new HD. so I downloaded one from the undo.bins in the link from the site. It's the same type but slightly differently model number, both are WD2500BEKT, but the numbers that follow are slightly different. Would it be risky to use this and start over from scratch? Should I keep attempting to restore partition 2? Thanks.

    Hi everyone!

I have a WD1600BEVS, and trying to use as a 120GB HDD for a fat X360, with no luck. I CAN flash the firmware with all versions of HDDHACKR: 1.25, 1.3, 1.4, and after the partition restore, the Xbox CAN see the 120GB (~107GB) -so far so good-, and i CAN installing games....but...When i want to play games (from hdd of course), i've got an error message:
"Couldn't play game. Try downloading the game again."

or trying to update system from a game disc (Halo 4), after the extraction, the system update failure (with infinity loop), and just the format solved this (in x360).

Please help me out, just cant find any solution.
    Many thanks

    M

    E-Z Conversion Guide

Basically, everything that was explained out in fine detail on this thread I went on the web and pulled together an entire guide for this so that users wouldn't have to keep going back and forth between browser window and the programs.

Try free dos instead of ms-dos then re copy the hddss.bin & hddhackr.exe files

It needs to be a direct connection to your computer. Usb cables won't work.

The box sees, i can format it, can install any games, but when i want to play from hdd, an error message shown up after OK, dash popup.

"Couldn't play game. Try downloading the game again"

No, not original Xbox games i want to play, X360 games, such as: GOW2, Halo 4, Forza 4, HALO3: ODST, etc.
Tried many hddhackr version, tried restore only partition 2 , and +3, but any restore failed, just the capacity lowered on the hdd, cant see any installs or saved games, profiles, tried without restore, nothing happened.

Anything i do always result the same: X360 sees the hdd, but cant use it. (the dash update is failed too, after the extraction get an error: failed to install update)

What is your dashboard version? You may need to burn the update to a disk or copy it to a usb.
You can find the version by doing this.
Settings>system>console settings>system info. Look for the number past> Dashboard:
