Those of you who have an android phone and have it update automatically will have noticed that one of the best google applications has dissapeared. Navigation was part of the maps app and has recently been removed from this app. It has been replaced with a longwinded, slow and a user unfriendly way to get navigation on your system. This thread is to ask google to bring back thier navigation part of thier Maps application.

For those of you who wish to revert your maps application in order to get navigation back you will need to go to settings>apps>all>maps>uninstall updates.

I believe that after the update the app 'Map' has google navigation built into it. At least it works just like Navigation for me and it's quicker than Navigation was.

Yup its all one app now, press the little arrow icon in the top right of the maps view and you basically get the old navigation app.

Personally I quite like the update, it flows better from the map view to actual navigation, with the added benefit of real time traffic and accident updates:

I'm OK with the update. Didn't use Maps on my phone all too frequently. When I need to travel somewhere unknown, I usually check Maps on my PC beforehand and print the route on paper. :P

And ironically, Street View is still a separate app that needs to be started from the Maps app...

A wise idea, i should do that and not put so much trust in technology...

Google maps does at least cache the route your taking, so if you have no signal / data for a while it does work fine. that wont help if your battery dies however lol.
