A few weeks ago I was looking into a way to offload some of my movies, tv shows, music, pictures and other important files to a cloud based service for use with Plex Media Server. I wanted cheap cloud storage with security, privacy and data redundancy and I came across Bitcasa. I was shocked that it offered infinite storage for such a ridiculous price! ($10 a month or $99 a year) ;D

Now those of you that don't want / can't afford this they will still give you 10GB of free storage. This by itself is quite handy as you can never have enough free cloud storage!

I won't lie though, they are still quite new and have a bit more to go. Though I've managed to work out all of my problems with there excellent customer support and community forums. I've setup my Bitcasa to automatically sync my NAS to my Bitcasa Infinite Drive all while pulling my full download / upload speed from them!

It's worked far better than I ever expected it to and is by far the best cloud storage I've seen yet that offers the storage I need and the features I want. They even have a suggestions area with voting so that they can add the features we want the most! I mean come on, its 10$ a month for infinite storage? How can they even afford that!? Bitcasa has some super secret technology that helps make this manageable. (de-dupulication mechanism)

If any of you would like to, please do check it out.

That probably means they can see exactly what you have uploaded, if it was encrypted no two uploads would be the same.

However if your not storing anything secretive this really does look pretty nice. Thanks for sharing i'm going to give the trial a go.

I'd love to look at something like this but the abysmal upload speeds in Australia it would take me years to get anything uploaded >_<

If your using there desktop app then all files are encrypted client side first and then used to de-dupe, and finally uploaded. Bitcasa cannot read the files or even the file name.

My upload isn't all that bad but I just have so many files to upload. Going to take me a few weeks!

What's your upload king? I recently got upgraded to 12meg upload so services like this have become a bit more viable now.

5m ;) its not much but it works. Just takes a bit more time. Although its perfect for small files. Using this with my Borderlands 2 game save as steam cloud doesn't transfer between mac and pc
