For those with familiarity with the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Edition with Optical Input on the drives: I'm trying to use the digi opt out from the PS3 to the Opt in on the Live!Drive. I've set the Audio Config on the PS3 to output the PCM format and my Creative Audio Console is detecting a signal from it, but for whatever reason or a hidden setting is keeping me from getting any playback out of the PC. Running Vista 64 with available outputs are analog from the card to my receiver and Logitech USB Headset. I basically want to run the audio through the machine so I can use my headset for playback. Any ideas anyone? "A computer lets you make more mistakes faster than any invention in human history--with the possible exceptions of handguns and tequila" Chico, CA
Ive done a similar thing in the past, connected the Xbox 360 to the PC’s line in then just had it play sound through my speakers using the PC’s soundcard. In Vista go to “Sound” in control panel, click the recording tab then make sure what you want to record from is enabled and set as the default device. After go to properties on the device and make sure the recording levels are turned up for it. This works for the Line in anyway, I presume it will work for the Optical Input on your Audigy.
Ya all those things look good. but no dice on the noise coming out of the PC. Anyone know of a program that has monitors for inputs? It may help focus on what is happening here.
Have you tried connecting anything else to the optical input on your sound card, to rule out an issue with the PS3 or cable itself? You could also try a "TOSLINK TO MINI PLUG" adapter to connect it directly to the sound card, instead of using your front drive input.
