Interactive Multi Game Demo Disc v14 is a playable demo disc for the Nintendo GameCube, what it interesting about this disc is that it contains a patch for the infamous berry glitch in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. The name of the glitch comes from the fact that the first thing a player will usually notice is that all Berries that have been planted have ceased growing. The glitch occurs 366 days after the game is first started, or 366 days after the internal battery is replaced.

Specially-marked demo discs were released to select stores across U.S. and Japan, so players can visit these stores and download the patch from the disc. In addition, players will also receive a Shiny Zigzagoon holding a Liechi Berry as a bonus. However, since the demo disc program does not block fixed games, players can receive multiple Zigzagoon by downloading to the same cartridge again.

So with this demo disc you are able to get multiple shiny Zigzagoon's and fix the berry glitch on your Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire games, result!

The disc also contains playable single-player demos of Custom Robo, Mario Kart: Double Dash‼, and Sonic Heroes.

Note: The Pokémon Special Gift option only appears when a memory card is inserted in to the GameCube.

Here's my small contribution. A picture of the disk V.16 and a save full of the Zigzagoon. Hopefully later today (As of posting this) I'll have the video of the redemption process of V.16

So what's the difference between V14 and V16?

From what Insane Nutter said. Basically just different demos to play. I only tracked down the V.16 disk. At the time, it was hard enough to find one and I didn't really see the need to have both. I kinda wish I kept looking for 14 now.

Though not as useful. If I can update the HomeBrew channel on my Wii, I'll post the ISO of V.19

14 has single-player demos of Custom Robo, Mario Kart: Double Dash and Sonic Heroes.

16 has playable single-player demos of Mario vs. Donkey Kong, Custom Robo, and WarioWare.

Each disc has various videos on too.

From a Pokemon point of view the Berry Glitch Shiny Zigzagoon distribution is the same.

Yeah true. For most people, as long as there's the Berry Fix + Shiny Zigzagoon that's all that really matters.

Was a Japanese disc like this ever released? From my research certain stores in Japan must have had a disc similar to this, as they distributed the event in a similar manner.

I think Japan may have had a cartridge version, just like in the UK. Not positive though.

On another note, how rare are Demo Discs 14 and 16? I've checked eBay for them occasionally over the last year or two, and I've never seen any. I also have no idea how much the 16 sells for, but I did find a few old ended listings of the 14 that sold for around $20.

Here in the UK the GameCube demo discs seem to go for £20-30 ish, although i don't religiously look for them our anything.

I got my disks 16 and 19 back in 2012 for around 30-40$ I think and that was a good deal at the time.

Japan had a disk, I have pictures of it. I haven't told anybody this because I wanna be able to buy one for myself. Yes, I'm selfish like that. I'll dump the disk as soon as I get it. I have a contact in Japan looking out for it for me.

I think 30-40 for something like this is a -really- good deal honestly, more than you're giving it credit for :P

So for what it's worth I'd figure I'd post this here in case someone finds this useful. I was using Demo Disc 16 to try and redeem Zigzagoons, but could not get it to work on my Sapphire cartridge. It turns out that you cannot redeem the Zigzagoon if your game's internal battery has run dry. Since my cartridge is literally over 10 years old, I replaced the battery and it let me redeem the Zigzagoons.

Interesting. I always figured it'd be just like the Jirachi Disc. It let's you receive the Jirachi, but it'll say something about not being able to fix the berry glitch due to the battery or something.
That's a bummer, since I want to get a Zig disc, but all my RSE cartridges have had their batteries dead for at least 6+ years. I never felt it worth changing since it doesn't affect the savefile. Fortunately, soldering a new one in is no problem for me.

And sorry about that. This would fall into the category of things I knew but neglected to mention. All my batteries were dead in 2012 when I got the disk so I thought it was broken. But it makes sense. It can't update the berry program if the internal clock can't be set forward.

Well, to be fair, the Bonus Disk is there to give you Jirachi, and as a bonus it fixes the berry glitch.
While this Demo disk was primarily meant to fix the berry glitch, and gives the Zigzagoon as a bonus.

So Bonus disk wouldn't care if it can't fix Berry Glitch, but Demo disk for Zigzagoon has more of a reason to care ;p

I didn't even Solder it haha, I got a slightly physically larger battery (I think a CR2016), and just let the cartridge casing hold it in place haha, works like a charm.

Anyone able to get GBA<->GC working with Dolphin and VBA-M?
Wondering if it would succesfully send Zigzagoon that way, or if it would think that the internal battery ran dry and refuse to send it (there is RTC emulation in VBA but I'm not sure how closely it emulates the real RTC.)

I think this is something that would be helpful to have out in the open, especially in a thread like this about a GC Demo disk that has GBA<->GC capabilities :P
I'm fairly certain the more recent versions of Dolphin should support it, I've just never been able to find a version of VBA-M that worked properly for the linking. Every time I tried it just made the emulator slow down to a crawl as soon as the link was established.

Ya, you're right lol, it's just easier to diagnose specific problems 1 on 1, like for example you need to have a GBA BIOS file in VBA-M to do this etc... Anyways, I used Dolphin 5.0-321 as well as "VBA-M-1.8.0-SVN1292." What I found helped was I would boot up VBA-M, go to the link tab, make sure localhost was typed in, and boot up Ruby/Sapphire before I even opened Dolphin. Then I would pause VBA-M, go to Dolphin and boot up everything over there, and get to the point of the Demo Disc where it says "Press A to receive." I'd press A, and then back on VBA-M I would load the battery save of the game from the \AppData\Local\wxvbam folder. This would usually cause the game to hang for a second on the gameboy BIOS bootup screen, but then everything would work as intended.

Edit: I can post screenshots of my VBA-M or Dolphin settings if needed.
