    thanks for the assistance - i was able to flash back past what i had, the usb and system functions are working but the volume is still not. The warning is duly noted as this has been my only problem since i purchased my PSP.

    I thought i did i ran PSP Ident and it says it is installed once i run again - how can i fix this?

    I actually just completed the process - followed your steps and now i cannot connect via USB or view my Firmware version or anything under the System tab. The unit freezes then powers off - please help In addition the volumes are dimming and brightening instead of volume
