    This is mostly due to SATA settings under BIOS, please check if it is configured to AHCI, if so set it to IDE mode.

    It does work, one last consideration regarding this specific HDD, it goes to sleep automatically after 10 seconds of inactivity. There is no way to remove this feature, and the disc will wear considerably fast.
