    Weird thing is, its detecting the drive as a Hitachi drive, but with the original serial number. Does that means it only did half of the process?

    Samething happened to me. Im trying to restore to the wd500lplx firmware but it gives me an error, it says that the Undo bin file has a wrong size!! Did you solve your issue?

    Then the problem lies with the WD5000LPLX. Can I just undo the whole process so I can use it as a laptop hdd?

    Yeah, if thats the case, I will order an OEM hdd instead.

    Hi! I got my hands in a WD 500GB HDD that I want it to use as an internal hdd for my xbox 360. I found many tutorials, but not as detailed and well explained as yours, so thank you for that. Thats how I found your site. You have an amazing community here, that I hope that I can be part of.

    In the BIOS, I only get IDE or AHCI, so I select IDE. Flashing seems to ok. It doesnt ask me to create partitions 0/2/3, but if I try to manually partition them, I get this error. Do you guys know what could be happening? Its a WD500LPLX

    Practically the same happened to me. Tried the WD500LPLX, it seems to be flashed ok, but the Xbox Slim will not recognize it. By the way, I tried to create partitions 0/2/3, but after it finished, it gives me an error. Let me see if I can upload a picture of it.
