You make some strong points ;)
That's quite unfortunate about the 12 HDD failures. That many however raises the suspicion, was something done incorrectly. Much like the WD20EARS drives. I've found a lot of people don't know what they're doing. Hence multiple bad reviews.
M$ is total scum then! The xbox controller may be the last thing I buy from them... I'm not spending ~3-4 times the price on their friggin maxtor, seagate, or Fujitsu hard drive, that's doomed to failure. WD is awesome!
I'll stop ranting now.
From what I understand, Xbox (360) is currently incapable of larger than 250Gb. Perhaps later M$ will release other drives 320Gb+, and we'll have a template for modifying the appropriate drives ;) Or an expert will simply know how to fool the xbox ;)
That's pretty Messed up for M$ to do that. Should operate normally otherwise. Follow the tutorial, and slap it in your Xbox. HDDHackr prepares even a new drive for the Xbox. The Xbox will take it from there ;) I've done it ♥ Just follow the Post to the letter ;)
I saved my undo.bin to my major archive drive. Just in case my buddy wants to use that drive for something else one day ;) Or for whatever reason I have to flash the drive back ;)
Though the drive I flashed was the 250Gb BEVT
Perhaps the folllowing to which I found HERE, will help.
E68: Hard Drive Error - Hard drive not DMA configured: It could be a problem with the Hard Drive itself or a problem with the internal connection to the hard drive, Try removing the hard drive and playing without it. Also this can be...
See thats just it nutter. I didn't transfer anything. The drive started completely fresh. Supposedly he can't locate anything. With Halo 3, he has to start over every time. I don't know anything about the xbox 360 or the profiles therein. I did this for him, because I'm an avid googler...
I had to do the same thing buddy. The flasher puts partitions 1, 2, 3 on the Hard drive. The xbox will see it and take it from there :D
If you play Halo 3 don't expect it to save your games though. Still not sure how to combat this. I'm hoping that my buddy can recover his profile, and take...
He's currently trying another game, but Halo 3 is confirmed to be his current problem. He says his saved games disappear. In which he has to start over. I told him what you've said. He seems insistent that something has changed...
He told me he hasn't recovered his profile from live yet...
He knew that when I started his drive fresh, that everything was gone. It is my understanding, that since he has gotten the drive, his saved game has disappeared. Any thoughts on that? Why would a saved game up and disappear? Western Digital makes really good drives, so I really don't think...
Something curious. I upgraded my friends xbox, to the 250Gb WD BEVT drive. He just texted me that his saved game is gone. This is his question
"I turned my xbox on and my halo save is gone! : -( i dont know what to do lol!"
He's been using an Xbox 360 for quite some time now...
Thanks InsaneNutter. Your post worked a treat the first time around. I thought I needed data from the original drive. I did not. I don't own an xbox 360. I told a friend I would do this for him. Thank you sooo much. I was searching the internet for a solution, yours is the one that worked...
