Yeah, I'm on the final (atleast say that it is) BETA for Battlefield: Heroes.

There are now 3 maps for it, and have opened a 'Shop' system; yes the game itself is free, and you can play it without spending a penny, but to get new clothes for your solider (doesn't make any difference to your gameplay, just makes you look cool) you have to spend your cash. This wouldn't be too bad, but everything (including emotes, that you have to buy) has a month time limit on it, so, a month after buying the clothes, they dissapear, getting you to spend again.

Good game, but the shop is kind've gay

God.. Iv been in the BETA since the start and i havnt played the game in ages!!

They said the game was going to be 100% free which I thought ment no spending any money on it but they ended up wanting money.

Busy on Fifa 09 Ultimate team.

I can't really blame them on that one. I can only imagine the money they've spend to make this game. Then just to say "don't worry about paying anything for playing it or use the features we only spent a lot of money to make this."

Yeah, the forums went schitz, I wouldn't care about paying for the aesthetic upgrades, but the time-limits take the mickey.

What's FIFA09 Ultimate Team like, anyways? It's meant to be a refreshing new face to franchise that's starting to stagnate; is it worth getting?

I set up Battlefront Heroes for my kids to play and I think it may have lasted a week before they got tired of it. I've yet to play but from the looks it will be a good game, but overall if you constantly have to buy upgrades it will probably bomb out after a while and no one will play. (Just my opinion)

You don't HAVE to buy anything; the game is incredibly fun, it's just that you have to pay to get items to customise your character, this however, only changes the way your character looks to other players (such as coats, hats, shoes etc), and doesn't make any difference to actual gameplay (such as a damage increase, etc)

I’m glad to hear buying content does not give you an advantage over people who don’t, are keys still been given out? I signed up months ago but haven’t managed to get a key yet.

I got it working by simply running internet explorer as administrator lol. It's pretty fun. We should all get into a game together.
