Ive been playing Skate 2 non- stop and ive noticed that when I have installed it to my hard drive, it lags, really bad! I deleted it off of my hard drive and the lagging seemed to have went away for a while. There is still some occasional lag here and there, annoying, but playable. Any ways to solve the lag?

I doubt there is a way to stop the lag. If anyone has played The Last Remnant lags horribly when in a battle UNLESS it is downloaded to the HDD. I don't know why it lags, I guess because they didn't know what the hell they were doing when they made the game.

I hate when you get lag in games, especially when it's a game being played offline. I mean online is understandable but when you get it otherwise, annoying.

Which is why I don't play The Last Remnant. Is has Absolutely NO online play and it lags horribly.

That is garbage. I had thought about playing that game, but decided otherwise when I saw reviews.

Trust me...don't play it. When it came out I wanted it because i wanted a good RPG for my 360 because I haven't played RPG's for sometime. It was horrible. Your characters don't level up (per say), their HP, Strength, Endurance.etc will get higher and higher but the thing is it does it randomly. You don't get Experience from killing the creatures. Also setting up a group a fighters is a pain in the ass. As I said before it lags and is annoying. When you press the guide button in the middle of the game loading, it acctually STOPS loading until your back out of your guide. All of your characters combined make what your HP is. EXAMPLE: If each person has 200HP it will combine it so your HP will be 600 (or however many people you have in the group). So if one person gets hurt they don't lose 100 HP from that one person, it deducts it from the total HP bringing it down to 500HP.

Same games like Crackdown actually perform a lot worse when installed to the hard drive so its recommended you don’t install certain games. Skate 2 could be one of the games that has problems when installed.

I dont understand how a game can lag offline, even when not installed. The developers must be shocking if that happens.

You know, I had thought about installing some games to my hard drive, but I am glad I decided not to. It seems to cause more problems than it was supposed to. I mean sure some games it works fine for, but it still seems like a bad idea.

I installed NFS Undercover for a bit as the game loads a lot between races and it did speed that up and silence the DVD drive, I don’t have the hard drive room to install more than one game anyway.

Indeed, im thinking of buying them 120gig western digital drives and hacking it to work with the 360.

Then again I don’t really need all the extra space it would just be nice to install a couple of games.

It's all to do with processing power; while the 360 packs a punch under-the-hood, if there is a lot to process at the same time, like with Skate 2 and NFS - both of these games involve travelling at high speeds and both want to render a lot of particles and motion-blurs at the same time, which really pushes the 360 some times - the 360 can suffer from what appears to be lag, but is actually a drop on FPS.

I'm not sure if installing the game to the HDD makes any difference to this, but I know that the main reason for 'installing' is too shorten the ridiculous loading times on some of the 360's games, such as Fable II, Lost Odssey and other massive (in the sense of actual game size, not popularity) titles.

Same difference. Although I said lag it was meant as drop in FPS

Fallout 3 is very nice to have on the HDD. It slims down the loading time. The thing I never understood was why The Last Remnant lags (faster then saying drop in FPS). The graphics are good but the 360 should be able to easily handle it. It only lags when going into combat which is odd because it loads before it goes into the battle for about 5 seconds and the surrounding areas of the battlefield are that big so it isn't much rendering. Although putting it on the HDD does help quite a bit, the only problem is my HDD can't take that.

Lol you haven’t seen my folder of half finished tutorials for the guides / tutorials section. I always start something and realise I have things that should take priority to do.

Maybe now would be a good time to finish them as Uni is practically over for the summer ;)
