Obviously when you're connected to live, live will check automatically for you whether you need a title update or not, and then prompt you when you need one. But when you're offline/not using XBL, how can you check to see if you need one or not, or which title updates you have installed so far? Is there a way to check that?
This guide by insanenutter might help: https://digiex.net/computing-sectio...itle-updates-patches-xbox-360-hard-drive.html Use 360 tool to check what updates you have installed, you will have to check them 1 by 1 If you are offline you dont need them, updates are only mandatory for xbox live play.
Oh cool, that link did help. As for XBL, I am offline, but there are updates that do introduce new functionality into games (just off the top of my head, like the Rock Band update to enable Microsoft Lips microphone support), so I should always install the latest title updates, right?
Well its always best to be up to date, the only way you will know an update is released if its announced some where like on the games website or Xbox Live asks you to update. We do have a lot of the new title updates here on Digiex.
Question, if there are multiple title updates for a game, do I need to have all of them, or only the latest?
Just the latest one. Title updates can fix various problems with the single player game too, and if your playing system link with a console that goes on live you will need the latest title update. Depends but generally you can play offline fine without them.
